What will happen once they shut the servers down?

Does EA have a future proof solution so we would be able to play this game offline once they stop supporting it? I played the 10 hour demo and I'm loving it, but I'm just worried that in 2-3 years they'lll shut down the servers for various reasons ie ( not many players playing the game) etc... and my $80 would be gone.

    I don't have any information about such future plans at the moment.

    However, seeing that servers for ten year old games such as Need for Speed Carbon are still online, I just want to assure you that you don't have anything to worry about for a long time to come. However, if the unlikely scenario you mentioned does come to pass, we will notify all players well in advance of our plans.

    Yeah, really good question here. It'll be just like NFS World, "Hey, thanks for playing our game, spending countless amounts on it, buying it, paying for "in-game store" stuff, etc. But we're shutting it down now, so screw all of you paying customers".....Yours Sarcastically, EA.....o.0 

    That's how I see it happening. Hence the "always connected forcefulness" of the game.

    Or, if we're lucky, they will patch the game like they did with SimCity. I mean, you can play Solo if you want, there's an option. So making it offline is definitely possible.

    Any new info about an offline patch of some kind? A few days ago it was announced that another always-online racing game The Crew will be shuttering their servers in March 2024 with no promise of an offline patch.

    Considering it seems the licensing deals with car manufacturers tend to be 10 years, will Need For Speed 2015 suffer the same fate in 2025?
