Can't customize online character

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Not sure.
What happens when the bug occurs? Can't equip anything on the character I chose. Some of the other models work but everything gets reverted when I leave the garage.
What do you expect to see? To be able to customize my character.

I chose the last character but I didn't customize it when I started online, just jumped straight in. After awhile I partied up with a friend then decided to customize after a few races but I couldn't select anything on my character and I couldn't change to some of the other characters. Some of the other models worked but every time I leave the garage it goes back to the default character.
