I too have this issue.
I've tried clearing caches
Running as admins
SFC/Scannow to fix anything there
Using my phone as a hotspot for faster internet as I'm on a <5mbps broadband connection.
Reinstalling EA app and the game, which took DAYS as again, slow broadband connection
Using a .bat file to wipe caches and run the game from the .exe
preying to the gods of old
Sacrificing a cat
Restarting my PC before launching it
throwing my wallet at the PC
getting cross
It does run, but once every 10-30 attempts. Today it ran first time. I fired up the PC, hit play and went to make food. 20 minutes later I was looking at the Press A rain screen =)
- 2 years ago@Mavark Try "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth" first and than "sfc /scannow" in CMD running as administrator.
- 2 years agoAlso updating your graphics card drivers could be done manually instead of using Windows Update, Adrenaline Software or Geforce Experience. Download the latest drivers from the manufacturers website be that Intel, AMD or NVIDIA. Don't install them yet. Download DDU and remove your current drivers with it. After that install the new drivers.
- 2 years ago@Sjonny30 I manually install nvidia drivers from their website. I try not to use Gforce experience if possible. I've used DDU for the past couple of years. The game has run since posting, but its once every 10-30 attempts. Just before writing this, the game booted up instantly as if nothing was wrong, except my controller didn't work. So I closed the game and... back to not booting. I can't find a pattern to it. But it did run earlier today with working controller.
I would also like to add, I frequently get "failed to sync save, continue with local save data?" and also, "Failed to upload game data to the cloud." I assume this is because my <1mbps upload speed is timing up while trying to sync the ~4mb save file and whatever else it's trying to upload that can take 10-20 minutes?!?!

@Sjonny30Ok will do.

After the recent update NFS Unbound stop working completely. Eventhough I bought 2 NFS Unbound (Standard and Palace versions) through Steam and Epic, none of them are working properly. Whenever I start the game, EA launcher just pop up and down then there's nothing happen. But if I switch EA launcher to offline mode, the game will start to run but there's no ingame UI. There's no crash or whatever and I'm also try to reinstall the game for many time but didn't work.

Since Patch 7.0.1 the games been real weird about launching. As in, it wont.
I thought 7.0.2 would fix it with the "stability fixes" but it doesn't seem to be the case
I have found a workaround though if you have the game on Steam.
Back the game up using Steam Back up.
Uninstall it. Delete the Excalibur folder in your steamapps folder
Go to Mydocs and delete the NFS Unbound folder. Grab a copy of your save file if you wish.
Once done, go back to Steam and "Restore game from Backup". Should take a minute. This avoids any long downloads, which is especially useful for people like me on a slowass internet connection. This download could take DAYS.
Once it's restored/reinstalled, run it.
Let the EA app download everything in the Mydocs folder and pull your save from the clould. This is when you can replace the file if you manually took a copy. The game should then run.
This has worked 5/5 times for me.
