So the influencers, streamers, etc cried and cried about how 'skill zoning' was ruining THEIR experience.For some reason, the experience of the people utilizing this method was completely ignored in favor of ensuring the playstyles of the twitch streamers are protected.And for some other reason, twitch streamers never felt the need to utilize any other strategy than simply walking into the slot and complained their one-dimensional offense was getting shut down too much by players who let the CPU clog the slot. I'm not one to skill zone per se, I try to NOT frantically swap control of my defenders - of course this means that 4 out of players on the ice are NOT taking any active measures against a puck carrier in close while I decipher which defender to swap control to. People have now figured out they can us LT to actually force A.I. defenders to completely disengage:At what point are we going to make the CPU less 'muted'? Do we need the twitch streamers to get scored on more and more so that they complain the CPU A.I. is too passive?

@KidShowtime1867 Like I’ve said before, I honestly think each mode needs to be completely tuned separately. We should not be running with the same AI in 1v1 modes as we are running in Eashl. The AI should be pylons in Eashl because the mode is made for a full human vs human experience to where AI should have as little of an impact as possible.1v1 modes, the AI need to be obviously better than they would in Eashl, considering you can only control 1 of the 5 skaters at a time, you don’t have another option. Same goes for offline modes, they need to present a challenge to offline players, so again separate tuning for that. You can’t have what is deemed as a “challenge” by EA for offline modes, then apply those same AI to their online modes when all of them are played in a completely different manner. Asking for a balanced game from EA is a long shot though, they can’t even get the basics of the game working without bugs, let alone providing a balanced experience. At this point, I honestly think the series has just reached its peak with the dev team they currently have, and I think there’s too many broken bandaid fixes they have done over the years that the core of the game itself just needs to be completely rebuilt and started fresh, which again won’t happen.

Another example of how the A.I. needs to do SOMETHING in some situations. This is ridiculous:

AI is so bad this year that I don’t want to even touch 1v1 modes. It’s not even that the AI is muted, it’s totally unreliable to even be a slalom obstacle on ice. One game they are completely muted and constantly skate away from play. Then in other game, pylons but late-checking everyone taking 2 and 5min penalties constantly. They have messed AI totally.

bang on. I'm all in favor of the CPU A.I. not taking penalties, but this shouldn't mean they're complete pylons either. I feel a balance needs to be found there and the feedback from streamers is simply about balancing offense over defense.

All they had to do was take incentive/ aggressiveness away. Let them play positionally well. Add a small perimeter for AI (and tie to player stats?), if opponent comes inside this perimeter AI will engage normally until puck is played away. This would promote passing, but there’s still room on ice to dipsydoodleL2.

At least blue accidentally bumped in to him and the goalie gave minimal effort to slide over - if this was EASHL, the defender would have dove out of the way and the G would have been glued to the post

@KidShowtime1867 Defense isn't crippled in this game at all. Nope. Everything's fine.....

The really sad thing is that even if you were able to switch to Landeskog immediately I'm not sure there would be anything you could do here. Stick lift from there is likely a penalty. He's too close for DSS or poke checks to be effective and Forseberg probably bounces off a hit.

You would need to have switched the split second he starts to move to the right to have any chance.
