Re: Hybrid shooting

When I try to shoot the little side menu pops up where you pick what line you want on the ice, doesn’t let me actually shoot.

What system are you playing on?

Go to your Xbox settings > Devices & connections > Accessories. Check to see if the firmware is up to date. If that doesn't help, try deleting the personal saved data for NHL 23.

• Press the Guide button and then highlight the [game] tile.

• Hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the right of the Guide button with 3 horizontal lines on it.

• Next, go to Manage game and add-ons > Saved data. Delete the file with your gamertag on it.

• Delete the file with your gamertag on it.

There is the risk of losing offline saves and changes to settings you've made. Normally, those download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee this.

Still did not work feels like I’ve tried everything but nothing works, very frustrating.

Do you have another controller you can try? Also, if you switch to skill stick and then back to hybrid, does it still happen?

Ya I tried a different controller and switching to skill stick and back but nothing works, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game also.

Can you get me video of this? I've never heard of this happening so possibly, seeing it happening will help figure out what's going on.

It looks like people have had this issue in previous nhls but no fix.

Apologies for that. It's been a while so didn't recall this from before. It's also a pretty rare issue. As far as what is causing it, I really don't know. Nobody responded saying if they got this resolved or not. For now, the best I can advise is to use either Skill Stick, or NHL 94 controls.

Were the hybrid controls working fine and then this started happening? Have you done a hard restart of your console lately? If not, try that to see if it helps.

Ya it worked for like a few minutes when I started playing nhl 23 then after that it got messed up, I’ve tried a hard restart and everything don’t know why it’s happening. Is there a way to configure buttons on nhl 23?

There is no way to customize your buttons through NHL 23. You can do this through the Xbox settings, but that will change those buttons for everything else as well. Can you get a video of this happening?

I'm stumped as to why this is occurring. What kind of controller do you have? Is it an official Xbox one?

You don't happen to play going down do you? If so, take a look at the controller settings and see if shooting controls is set to Always Up.

I really don't know what would be causing this. Is it possible to play on Skill Stick or NHL 94 controls instead? If I can think of anything else that might fix this, I'll let you know.

I really don't think there's going to be a fix in 23 as this issue is extremely rare. We would need to be able to reproduce it in order to fix it and so far that's not possible. Hopefully, it doesn't happen in future games.
