Patch 1.1.0 Feedback Thread

@EA_AljoI don't mean to be dramatic here but this is actually the most serious issue this franchise has ever had upon release. People cannot find games and are getting extremely frustrated with how the search queueing works.  Something desperately need to be fixed ASAP. Also unless I've missed something, we (the community) don't even know if the team is aware of how bad of an experience this is, let alone if a fix is planned/being discussed.

Here are a few things I'd like to see in this or a future patch:

1) I get penalized around the net because in previous years pushing up on R near the net (PS5) led to a play on the puck whereas now it's always a shove, leading to an interference call. Could you update the game so that when near the puck, pressing R to shoot will actually cause the player to attempt a shot rather than a check? It might be nice to add this feature to the net battle system too so that the player, when engaged in a net battle and the user presses up on R, attempts to bat/deflect the puck.

2) Create a player: This seems like an easy fix and one players have requested for a long time. Please add a NO HELMET option to create a player. I know you don't have a license for players like Bobby Orr, but if I want to create arguably the greatest player ever, I should be able to create him the way he played which is WITHOUT A HELMET 🙂

Thanks EA...so far the game is ok. Could use some improvements but I'm liking some of the improvements that make the feel of the game more realistic.

I agree...I like the new physical features but every hip check shouldn't knock a guy over the boards or through the glass. Also skilled players can very easily avoid a hip check...have you ever seen McJesus get hip checked? Nope, this is because with his speed and awareness he either blows by a defender or knows when they're going to brace for a hit and skates around them.

I know it sounds crazy but I advocate for a SLOW DOWN feature where, based on a player's defensive or offensive awareness, plays slow down during specific occasions so the user has time to read and react to the situation - e.g. BIG TIPPER if I'm Matthew Tkachuk camping in front of the net and the puck is fired at me, as a user I should have time to make an actual attempt to deflect the puck rather than have the game's AI randomly decide if I tip the puck or not. If I'm a SHUTDOWN defender and someone tries to deke around me on a break, I should be able manually to attempt to poke, sweep, or body check to prevent the deke. These are just examples but if EA did this it would make the game much more realistic.

We are currently investigating the matchmaking reports. As soon as there's some news, I'll provide an update.

A big help with the drop in matchmaking wait times would be to reduce the 'looking for teammates' time, at least when there are 2 or more players on the team in 3on3. No one (with 2+ brain-cells) wants a random Goalie on their team, especially in 3on3 and yet, even after getting a C, W and D, gotta wait for 3 extra/pointless minutes every single search for a goalie that a) damn near never turns up (in EU) and b) absolutely no one, wants. As it is, we're basically wasting 30-90 minutes just waiting for absolutely no reason whatsoever, every night. It's frankly a terribly flawed system and everyone's sick of it.

Isn't it possible there just aren't that many people playing? Its one thing if there were 150K concurrent players like Madden, but this game gets about 15K players online.
