    Yes, BaP has not gotten attention in a long time. It's also one of the least played modes.

    More people would play BaP if it was more frequently updated.   There's little point to playing the mode now when nothing has changed in a few years.  Most of the other major sports games have a much more in depth and immersive career mode than NHL, and the gap widens every year EA does nothing with BaP.  Build a fun, immersive career mode and the players will be there.

I think is more the context of how EA uses their wording. Some of it can be viewed as that being done. When using the words "All new" that means that something is new and never been used in the game before. That is at least my concept on what All new is. 

I go back to example I can show - NHL 24 - in your marketing for "On Ice Projections"

The exact wording is "See all-new ice projections for game intros, authentic projections from NHL teams in offline mode, 11 customizable intros for EASHL and offline modes, and 11 new national anthem presentations in international modes."

If you take the wording as is you have all new ice projections which isn't fully the case (at the time of this marketing only 7 teams or so had openings at all (which alone was not directed in the marketing) - generic ones were added in a later patch after backlash - with the generic ones outside of the glow sticks they look basically the same or worse then NHL 13 intros  - which had full game intros including light dimming in the arena, away team boos as they get on the ice - announcer introducing the home team walking down the hallway and even onto the bench, plus it had a laser light show presentation with team logo on the ice. 

So right there alone they are not "All-new" - they were removed when NHL 15 was made and was brought back in a much lesser value to NHL 24 with slight changes except for a few teams that have a slightly for "flashy" kind - again there was added flair to the older intros too.

Keeping with the fact that all of the presentation was put together - technically you have to include the National anthems which again from my best understanding they were in prior NHL games and was removed (can't find video of this so I could be mistaken here but ill continue to look). 

This does seem like it was a removal of presentation features that was brought back years later and as per your own marketing was listed as "All new".

Thanks for the feedback on this. It's not quite what I think people mean when they say a feature was removed and brought back as new, but I can see how this can be perceived that way. Especially if the projections are the same as they were in 24 as 13. I don't believe they are, but I also skip presentation as much as possible. I know the glow sticks weren't there previously though.

This series has been around for 30 years. I think it's perfectly reasonable to remove a feature and bring it back later as new and improved. I'm not recalling a feature that was in the game previously and brought back and marketed as if it were brand new and never in the game before. People love to call us out on this, but so far, there hasn't been a good example of it actually happening. I'm not saying it's never happened though. I don't know every feature we've had previously that returned, but I'm not recalling when a removed feature came back and was advertised as something totally new and never before included in a past game.

    You're welcome. I did give you an example of how it looked in NHL 13. Not sure if or why you didn't watch it to see how they compared. 

    This is defined as a game feature or it would not be marketed as one and to someone who is prime for presentation this is a good example. To me this would be the same as if you removed a full mode in CHEL. It can make a game completely unplayable - NHL 23 is an example where I played a total of 15 games the whole year and made me lose faith in the development team. 

    I don't feel that many including yourself fully understand what it is like to have a huge part of the game removed and then brought back bit by bit (replays is another one - but that was at least not marketed as All new). Even with stuff like glass breaking and checking into the bench - it was marketed as brought back whereas "All new" was used for on ice projections. 

    There is a huge difference between the 2.

    Are they exactly the same no - the new intros are actually worse in overall presentation then the older version, with less value put into what is being showed - let alone the lapse of time between the 2. 

    When you use all new that means its a feature that has never been in the game before (which is not the case).

      I did watch it. I don't have 24 handy to verify if the projections are the same as in 13. If the projections are actually different and weren't in a game before, I can see why they would be marketed as new. The same as when there is a new soundtrack every year.

      You're probably right that I haven't experienced that since the modes I play are still part of the game. Regardless, I know you're very passionate about presentation. I just think we need other examples that back up the claim we're constantly removing and bringing back features as brand new.

    The game is **bleep** brutal. It might be time to take a couple years and just re-jig everything. Somehow, it's worse than 24.
