NHL 25 Franchis mode won't use active roster.

Trying to start a franchise in NHL 25 and I have the current (Oct 21 roster update as active roster) and choose the authentic option for franchise. And see no option to choose a roster. And when franchise starts it has the original roster game was launched with. How do you start a franchise with the latest roster update?
