NHL25 crashes all the time in game

I bought a cooling fan for Xbox. It worked and my game stopped crashing.

I understand it is an added cost.

There is clearly an issue with the game and Console combination that results in overheat and shutdown.

I have made the request for more videos showing the crashing, but haven't been receiving them. That is going to help us troubleshoot this. We want it fixed. We're not ignoring this. There's just nothing we can do if we can't reproduce it. 

Based on this reply, I will not be delivering you, or anyone else for that matter, anything. Thank you for solidifying my assumptions and making my decision to move away from NHL going forward easier. I really do hope that another company comes along to put out a good NHL game. I will no longer be sharing in this forum as it does not lead to anything except additional frustration and non-sympathetic responses to people who spent money on a product that, in my opinion, is sub-par at best and continues to go downhill.

 I do want to call out that putting all of this on the consumer and making it seem like it is not the game but us is the reason why EA is losing customers.

In comparison to the overall playerbase, there is a very small number of people experiencing this. We also haven't ruled out that it's not a problem with the game. We just can't figure out what is causing this without being able to make it happen. So, with that few number of people apparently affected, it's also possible this is related to the console. Personally, I have 2 Series X consoles. One is a day one and the other I just picked up a few months ago. Neither has had this crash. Nobody on my club is experiencing this either. I'm not saying that means there's no issue here. I'm saying that whatever is causing this is possibly a unique combination of actions/customizations or a hardware issue with the console. So far, one person fixed it by using an external fan and another fixed it by getting a new console. Both of those point to overheating/hardware issues. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't rule any issues with the game.

This isn't the only game that uses the previous game as a foundation for the current game. It's still not copied and pasted. There are many updates and changes each year. Except for 23. Which we specifically said was so that more focus could be put on 24. What would make the game decent for you? Besides not having it crash.

This is never our intention. Especially when we can't say for sure that it's the consumer's fault. I have not said this absolutely is not a problem with the game. We just have not been able to prove who's side it's on.

I will get you what you ask so that maybe, just maybe you can fix this for the MANY others... and I say MANY because you mention that there have not been many reports, yet we have so many within this thread alone, not to mention the MANY other threads with similar complaints, who are also from different consoles.

This thread currently has 150 replies. Many of which have people posting multiple times. So, that number comes down a lot. Then you factor in the overall size of the playerbase and it's a very small number of people reporting this. Of course there are some that don't come here as well. However, when there's an issue that is widespread, we hear about it. We get reports here, on reddit, and with our support team. So, the reality is, it's a very small group of people that are having this issue. We would love to get it fixed if we can. Again, we just need to be able to reproduce it.

Ok, so using the XBOX DVR would not make any sense in this instance as I could potentially be putting more strain on the console (if that is issue). I will see if I can find a way to record...

I am pretty vanilla when it comes to customizations - so no custom pics. The only real customizations I have is for the club (stadium, jersey, player name, etc) and drop-ins (player name, style, fit, etc).

Yes, it happens in both drop-ins and club play; but I have not played drop-ins in quite some time - mostly club, mostly 3v3 as of late.

I will see what I can put together:

Sad, after playing NHL together, since online play was an option, is going away because:

Hello. Unfortunately, I don't have anything else to suggest. As DEC3PTIV3 mentioned, you could try using an external fan to see if that helps. We still have not been able to reproduce this.

It sometimes shut before the end of one CHEL game. Wonder if there are different version of the cooling design or shutdown parameters.

Still puzzled by people crashing on xbox and ps5.

Wow that is pretty frustrating. Which fan did you purchase?

So for me my console was getting too hot and shutting off or dashboarding. I have not had the issue since adding a external fan to the Xbox.  The odd part is that only NHL 25 causes this overheating issue of games I play.  PoE 2 is pretty graphic intensive but still won’t shut my system off. I believe there is something about the game that really taxes the Xbox more so than other games.
