Bugs that are ruining the experience
Ok. I don't buy NHL every year. Why? yall don't make significant enough improvements year after year to warrant me purchasing it every year. Some of the same glaring issues I experienced in NHL 24... are still present in NHL 26.
1.) Penalties - now this is a new one. No penalties are called in BAP... at all... except for cross checking. The setting for penalty frequency is set to 4/4. I've played several hours. I have seen 4 penalties called. All of them... cross checking. How does this happen? Penalties are like an integral part of hockey. How can a hockey sim be released without penalties working? What was the QA process? Did anyone ever play hockey or watch hockey that did the testing?
2.) Poke checks are useless because the sticks are immune to incedental contact. I have video evidence of a computer player being poke checked by two people and there is NO disruption at all. I'd post it but several others have posted this.
3.) From the main menu, I have set the goalie tether to off and the hug the post to manual. I start a new be a pro... and guess what I have to change... every...single...game. If I were a betting man, I'd say that somewhere in the code the computer has absolutely NO idea which settings to apply so it always applies the default settings. This is why gameplay sliders have virtually no effect on gameplay. I have turned stick immunity to 100/100. it plays identical to stick immunity set to 0/100. But SOME settings apply themselves across all games. On the first game of be a pro I set the announcers to all commentary. I never have to repeat that.
4.) I've seen video of and experienced the absolutely arbitrary goal disallow calls. I've seen goals disallowed when no one was around the goalie. Vids of that floating around. I've also had a clear kick in that wasn't even reviewed, let alone waved off.
I made my purchase of this game for the BAP experience. These bugs are breaking that experience. I'm not far from seeking a refund.
Are any of these being addressed? We just had a major update... none of these made the list. I'm baffled. Truly... baffled.
