It’s all in the sliders.. Go to General and look for Fatigue Effect. The higher the number then the more fatigue affects them. Example: if it’s at 0/100 then the red bar means nothing and McDavid will skate as fast as he would with full green.
But if you adjust it to 100/100, then the skaters practically stop all forward progress when skating if they are in the red. I keep mine at 75-80/100. It’s a nice balance. Have it too high and players slow down too much and get tired too fast. Too low and you get exactly what you’re talking about.
Also want to look at the fatigue recovery slider. If it’s at 100/100, then the first line will be on the ice practically all the time. I have my recovery slider at 15/100. That guarantees that the 4th line for both teams gets on the ice. Any higher than 20 and McDavid will have 30min of ice time.
