I'm a franchise player who now tried CHEL because franchise mode is completely forgotten... nothing worth it cuz no one BUYS anything there. Well tried CHEL and got run over by overpowered "enforcer...
It’s actually laughable that the entire community continues to bring forward the same concerns over and over again, and instead of EA actually taking ownership of the issue and trying to fix it, we get a community manager in all the comments trying to defend the game. It is quite clear an issue persists when the entire community, minus 1 (who works for the company) see the issue; it is quite clear EA needs to simply get it together or people are just going to stop buying the game, I know for me and many others I play the game with NHL 26 was the final straw, I pre-order the deluxe edition to get my hands on the game early with all these apparent new fixes; what a joke. Instead of sitting here arguing with the player base and trying to claim these issues don’t exist, take the feedback, bring it to the devs and make a proper update.

The "issues" being brought up in this thread include:
low IQ people who abuse L2 and do all the cheese/exploits in the game to get ahead
[players] abusing game mechanics to win
the L2 exploit
the community itself smartening up and stop abusing such things
It’s kinda a boring when the goalie let in the same goal everytime.
These are all defendable. If you're being exploited by these on a regular basis, it means your play style lends itself to this exploitation. You need to adjust your game rather than insisting it's an 'EA' issue. And if you see your goalie allowing the same goal in every time, then you're allowing your opponent the same time and space; every. single. time.
I understand a lot of you think that your hockey IQ means that you're infallible in the way you approach defending, but I can assure you that most of you have defensive deficiencies, combined with a lack of understanding of how the mechanics are intended to work. I say this based on the plethora of threads I've contributed to where users will literally argue about something I've proven with clear video.
For some people here, there are fundamental misunderstandings of how certain things in the game work that is preventing you from getting the most out of your "Hockey IQ". I've grown tired of explaining this to hardheads who flat out refuse to accept any responsibility for their playing. So if you're looking for tips on how to grasp the nuance and get a better understanding of how to defend things, you'll need to find like-minded folks in drop-ins or find a YouTuber who breaks this stuff down cuz I'm over it.
OP's post is a perfect example of someone who does not understand the nuance of the mechanics.

Pokecheck and sticklift helloooooo are you there?!?!?!??!? NOOO
These mechanics work very well. What most have failed to grasp is that throwing inputs at your player is preventing the automatic stick lift and poke checks that happen when an opponent is about to receive a puck within the defender's range of action. Literally nobody ever discusses this on these forums and that tells me all I need to know about the skill-level and very basic level of understanding of these mechanics of most people here.

full speed upp, full speed down… glitch goal, glitch goal, glitch goal
This is EASILY defendable. Any d-man worth their salt who plays 3's knows how to read the play to get back in time to stop these types of players.
My drop-in stats for exclusively playing defence in 3's, for those of you who think this kind of thing is important
This is kinda the point we are making, yes, these should be defendable, and sometimes with proper positioning they can be stopped; but, with that being said, poke checks and stick lifts are still significantly under effective compared to what they should be doing. But more importantly, it is simply not fun if you have to play into these exploits and glitches in order to win games. It is supposed to be a hockey simulation, hockey offers all kinds of unique play styles and experiences, not just 3 sudden death enforces rushing the puck and reverse hitting to glitch goals every single time, it is simply not fun for either side because every game is the same. IT IS SO BORING and a complete waste of time. I have been playing EASHL since it was first added into the game, and this is undoubtedly the worst year for glitch goals ever, because even with proper defence, you are rarely actually rewarded for proper positioning and defence (proper meaning actual hockey). I am not claiming to be a hockey genius, but like, cmon, anyone who has ever played or watched a reasonable amount of hockey in their life can see the glaring issues this game has.

I agree with the truculence and reverse hitting, but again, what are you all considering to be glitch goals? High percentage shots given up by bad defense are not glitch goals. They are not scored because of a bug that makes those shots undefendable.
I also fully agree on stick lifts. They were great in 25, but are far from useful in 26.

Can you give me video examples of this? With the exception to truculence and reverse hits, positional defense can be very successful.
Nothing is changed from NHL 25 about sticklift and poke check??
Obviously, poke check and stick lift are not the same as they were in 25.
and a wild guess you only play with friend that is also really good at the game.
I play with friends I've been playing with for about 15 years, plus a couple of veteran players that I started playing with over the last year. The combination of us all means we win more than we lose. We play well together as a team. I mostly play 5s with AI goalies.
