First gameplay patch?

Any info about first patch which will affect to gameplay, when that will be released? Game has been out about 2,5 weeks and there has been lot of talk about L2/LT bug (ea said in gameplay video they have fixed that), sticklifts, pokechecks, interceptions etc which are like main things in ice hockey and they are not working like they should so its kinda "funny" like fixing those is taking that much time... That kind of things should work perfectly right away when game is released, lets imagine like there is published shooting game and you will not be able to shoot in that game, its kinda same thing...

I dont mean to be mean, im just so frustrated about playing dman atm, its not funny at all because defending is nearly impossible atm and you dont get rewarded that much when you are positioning right and doing right stuff. There is starting competitive tournaments soon in chel mode and that would be nice to get game fixed before that

  • EA doesn't really give timelines for patches or future notice of what's going to be in them.  The best we'll get is possibly some info the day before a patch comes out.  Other than that, we'll just need to be patient.

  • This game feels exactly like a first person shooter where the bullets don't fire... Such a disappointment I will be deleting this game it's the worst version of itself ever put out on launch

Hi there. Thank you for the constructive feedback. I can't tell you how much that's appreciated.

We typically release patches monthly. I can't say whether or not that's the case for 26 since we don't normally announce a patch until the day before. The best I can tell you is that the team is working on various issues.

I too play defense and I agree it can be frustrating. I don't think it's impossible though. My experience is with 6s only so if you're talking about 3s, that's probably more frustrating. In 6s though, the more I play, the more I adapt and it's gotten better. Regardless, I'm in agreement that changes need to be made. Some XFs feel OP, poke check and stick lift could be improved. I haven't had a problem with interceptions though so if you have video of those failing when you think they shouldn't, get a video so i can pass that on to the team for review. Otherwise, interceptions appear to be working well. Especially if you're using Quick Pick.

I would say that interceptions need a buff. Or defensive reactions. I do find that interceptions work however I find that it’s not always easy to get yourself in position. For example, a lot of players will skate down the ice get down the the goalline either on the left or right side of the net and force passes through the crease. Because they are in close proximity of the defensive players, imo the defensive players don’t have enough reaction time to intercept the pass and it goes through them.

Another example of defensive interceptions being more difficult is that you need to have your stick positioned correctly, and for real life I completely agree, however in a video game it is very difficult to keep your stick in position at all times as you try and navigate around the ice. Sometimes your player even lifts his stick off the ice, which we have no control over, and the puck goes right under him.

I can only speak for myself but given these examples and the complaints about interceptions over the years. I think it would be beneficial to buff them a bit to make the gameplay a little easier on the defensive side of things.

yea I like playing Dman to. I noticed that when you score a goal you get an increase in coaches score of 17% in offense, if you get an assist its like 13%, but if you block a shot AND poke check you only get like 6-8% in defense, and on a big (huge) hit you only get about 6-8% as well and if you pass it's like 1% in teamplay. this game is totally geared for your player, weather forward or defense, to score goals. everything should be even. or close to it.

I have an enforcer and I miss tons of poke checks and interceptions that I know I should have had. and the enforcer doesn't have Quick Pick X-factor ability. there was anther thread on that. now the AI seems not to miss to many. they can pass the puck with precision while getting checked but I can't.
