Nhl26 defenceman world of chel

mather.

It saddens to aknowlege this wont resonate in any way because ea has proven year after year they dont listen to the community and that they droped the ball with the nhl franchise.

This being said. Heres the review from a long time consumer and a present day competitive player on the defencive mechanism and gameplay;

I have no choice but to begin with the obvious. It is complete trash!

-clearly the focus is on goal scoring and offencive plays when you look at the  "improvements" that has been made over the past couple years.

-the toolbox we are provided with isnt light.. its empty..

Pokecheks: maybe,    liftsticks: lol,     hits: carefull,        passing lane: if you master the 1000 do's and dont's of it, probably,     just stand in the fwd's way hoping he loses the puck: yes.

#1 issue: the game is set on a % and probability system wich gives free plays to fwds on the defence on multiple aspects weather its cross creases, rebound pickups 1v1 battles and it occurs in the most obvious and unfair way imaginable(Replay feature can confirm)

Then comes the perks. I dont even need to elaborate on how unbalanced this feature is.

#3 the lack of animations on several aspects of a defenceman gameplay: a simple example, when i have posession of the buck on the offencive zone, there should be couple animations where the skater keeps the puck onside when you are playing the puck near the offencive blue line..

  • nets battle: i can hold "a" or "x" to TRY and tie the stick, press "y" or "triangle" for a.... net battle...? But only within a few feets from the net otherwise its a penality.. Dont shove or check fwds to box em out you most likely will get a penality. Maybe a couple more elaborate controls would be cool.. just sayin.

General controls:   appart from hits moving to right stick.. chipping at the puck by holding right stick aaannddd..... i dont know im surely forgeting some but nothing has been brought to the table as far as defence controls goes. Goalies have had some this year but they have been ignored for a long time too (ik g's are in the same boat as d).

The facts are 90% of people who pick up chel and give a shot at defence will give up withing the first couple games and those who persevere most will be trash because its super hard and fwds are very crafty and only after YEARS and thousands of games will you be able to be a good defenceman cause you have to know every aspects, glitches , quirks , to put together a efficient gameplay.

Honestly EA and i can safely say that i speak for 100% of the defence players. Absolutely nobody have a positive input about this. hundreds, thousands have droped the game already and it keeps freefaling.  Please, fix this.

I would normaly end by something like thanks for your time, but i wont.

  • Yes net battles tying up sticks etc are invisible. When I try these , my guy just turns around gives the opponent inside position stick lifts for my guy arent even around the opponent. Makes it look like I don't know how to defend n just spamming button, it's frustrating n we pay 100 bucks for this game smh. This game is definitely against good defensive positioning 100%

    For net battles to work, the player you're trying to tie up needs to not be moving. I use stick tie ups very frequently, but if you're playing against opponent's that keep their feet moving in front of the net, it's not going to work. I normally just get in position next to them and hold down the A/X button to initiate a tie up in case they stop moving. Which happens pretty often. I've stopped a lot of tips, one Ts and rebound shots this way.
