"I have now played 50 games since the update and I must say that the penalties are not any better than before, I have given the opponent maybe 2-3 more penalties than before. There was no real change in the penalties and this is specifically when playing, not simulating. During the simulation, penalties come on a fairly real scale, even fights. The AI stick use, for example, is absolutely millimeter accurate so that nothing comes out a penalty, then there are these blockings of the player without the puck which are completely off.
Penalties don't work."
I compared the penalties in NHL25 (about 20 games played)
And yes, these penalties occur more often, but in NHL25 your player has another player magnet that causes them. Whoever came up with the idea of putting this magnetic player in the game (NHL25) who follows your be a pro character behind your back the entire game should be fired. In no league do players act like you are being hunted in the rink and someone is literally stuck to your back like a magnet and as soon as you pass, shoot or do anything, a stick comes out or you are tackled to the ice. An NHL player is practically always _between the goal and the opponent_, not on the opponent's back and especially not trying to get to the back all the time. You can't even defend this in any way other than by going for a line change. Once you get the puck, the AI takes a magnetic grip on you in a nanosecond (this give penalties). NHL26 isn't such a bad magnet, but there won't be any cooldowns either. I'm absolutely sure that this is at least part of the reason why there are no penalties. Players were made less aggressive but at the same time they removed certain ways to get a penalty completely. This is done wrong. My message to the devs is to go and watch a real NHL game. There you will see things like accidental fouls. That doesn't happen in the game, the AI doesn't do that.
