Roster Update Schedule

You mean about every 6-8 weeks... There will be one about a week after the NHL season, maybe one or two before Christmas and one at the Trade Deadline... People are better off going with a trusted roster creator. 

You know I read that somewhere and I forgot. Good to hear it from someone within EA.

It kinda stinks to buy a $70 game and it comes old... but the only alternative would be to release your game after the season starts. Which would be equally crazy. 

Thank you so much for being an active responder to these things. I know ya'll get a lot of flack for the game. I appreciate having my questions answered within a couple hours of asking. That is a really quick turnaround time. Makes me glad I paid full price for this thing. 

They will need to play their first NHL shift before they can be added to the roster.

I took a quick peek into the shared rosters and was immediately overwhelmed. 

Do you have a reccomendation on a shared roster that is consistently updated? 

So it just populated with another roster update this morning. I was pleasantly surprised. So I downloaded it. My team is the Redwings. The three rookies that are confirmed to be on the team are no where to be found. Not scratched and not injured. I only pay attention to my team and no others - so i'm not sure what the roster update did. But for my team there doesn't seem to be any change. 

Since the last one was the 25th, the next one is possibly the 9th, but I can't guarantee that. We'll have to wait and see as we don't always announce roster updates in advance.

I don't know exactly how many roster updates there are during one game's cycle, but plenty. EA usually waits until a week-ish or so until the proper start of the season update comes for the rosters. Some players need to play a regular season game in the NHL before they are allowed to be added to the game (because of licensing). When all teams have played a game the start of season roster update is usually near.

One option is to use shared rosters of course. It has many advantages, like that those who are serious are usually fast to upload their updated version. They usually create a lof of missing rookies and prospects, some which EA will add in their roster update and some that they can't (from NCAA).

But only EA can add the real faces and photos, so you win some and you lose some with that solution. Also if new jerseys and stuff are added, the only way to add them is by using the official roster. I find myself very torn between these solutions, since I do like to create my own roster, but knowing that all my work can be for nothing if a significant thing is added via the official roster, I need to start over.

Do we have an ETA on the roster update for the season start?
