Unacceptable, Ea.

This was my last NHL, sad, but true.

After selling players in HUT according to the rules, with no real money involved, and having proof of it (since I have chat logs for almost every transaction), because I’m active and a member in several HUT trading/selling groups (Discord, Facebook, Reddit), where most, if not all, of my sales have taken place, especially the ones that might seem suspicious.

These groups work in a way where people post which players they are looking for. Often, those players aren’t available on the Auction House, which can make them more expensive than their typical value, which is completely fine and within the rules.

Then, out of nowhere, you receive a warning = banned for 14 days + banned from the Auction House for a month.

As a high-paying customer who has bought many packs over several years, supported the game, and maintained zero tolerance for cheating, this is how you’re treated.

And EA’s support, what a joke. Completely useless, far below acceptable standards. You only receive automated responses that give no explanation, none at all about what you’ve done wrong. “We have done nothing wrong, you have. Here’s a link to our rules. Thank you.”

No matter what you write or refer to, it doesn’t matter.

I’ve held this game in high regard and supported it, but no more. This was the final straw. An unprofessional, lazy, and honestly worthless way of handling things.

Meanwhile, I encounter so many players online who harass, threaten, and deliberately sabotage matches, and they get to continue without any issue. But the moment someone earns some coins, fully within the rules…….BAN, immediately, with no chance to explain or present facts showing everything was done correctly.

I’m done. EA has lost a loyal and high-spending customer

Since I buy packs and have spent a lot of time and money on the game to build a team capable of competing at the top, I just want to make it clear that I am against coin farming and coin manipulation, it’s cheating. If I had bought coins from a third party, I would understand, but that has not happened. I have evidence to support my claim.

But I refuse to support this company again. I refuse.

  • I would like to provide feedback regarding the current state of online gameplay, specifically concerning sportsmanship and game balance.

While some "unconventional" tactics like pulling the goalie are part of the game’s risk-taking, there are two specific behaviors that are currently ruining the player experience:

Puck Ragging in the Defensive Zone: Some players are consistently skating back to their own end and holding the puck indefinitely. This removes any opportunity for a fair contest and forces a stalemate. We need better AI forechecking or a mechanic that penalizes players for refusing to advance the play.

Repetitive Goal Exploits (Short-side snipes): Certain goal angles (especially the short-side "glitch" goals) are far too high-percentage. When a player combines puck ragging with these exploits, it stops being a hockey simulation and becomes a search for a mechanical flaw.

I believe the game would be much more enjoyable if the goalies were more responsive to these predictable patterns and if there were stricter penalties or mechanics against puck ragging.

"It's frustrating to play against people who don't want to play hockey, but only want to exploit the engine."

"It completely ruins the motivation to even try when the opponent plays like that."

"When a player starts pulling their goalie, it’s often a reaction to the opponent’s toxic behavior. It happens because they get so frustrated with the constant griefing that they just give up on the game."

"It's not fair play when an opponent relies solely on scoring short-side goals and doesn't even try anything else. The goalies simply can't react in time to these exploits, which is incredibly frustrating and completely ruins the fun of the game."

If people are being threatened and harassed, that is done through the console's chat system and would need to be handled by MS/Sony.

I agree that it's very frustrating to deal with griefers. I would love to see us do a better job handling them.

  • Here are the steps to view your history and submit a dispute:

    1. Access Your Penalty History

Go to the official EA Penalty History tool: help.ea.com/help-tools/penalty-history.

Log in with the same EA account you use for NHL 26.

    2. Locate the Penalty

Once logged in, you will see a list of active and past bans or suspensions (e.g., HUT market bans or account suspensions).

Click on Details or Review next to the specific penalty you want to challenge.

    3. File an Appeal

If the penalty is eligible for a dispute, you will see an Appeal option.

Fill out the form: Be clear and concise.

Provide Context: Explain why you believe the penalty was a mistake. If it involves a technical error or a misunderstanding of a trade in HUT, provide as much detail as possible.

    Important Tips

Response Time: The Terms of Service (ToS) team handles these cases. It typically takes 3–10 business days to receive a response via the email associated with your account.

Avoid Duplicate Tickets: Sending multiple appeals for the same issue will not speed up the process and may actually delay your case.

Chat Support Limitations: Standard customer support agents via chat or phone cannot overturn bans. Only the specialized ToS team has the authority to lift a penalty after reviewing your appeal.

Hopefully, you'll get things sorted out and be back on the ice soon

    Oh great! Thanks!

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing… The only thing you get back is an automated response that doesn’t address anything or respond to what you actually wrote. ”Thanks, but you’re in the wrong, we’re right, don’t contact us again, here’s a link to all our rules, you’ve broken one, guess which”.

The same automated response every single time, no matter how much you write and ASK for a proper answer that explains and clarifies what you’ve done wrong and what was flagged.

You’d think you could at least get that right, but no, your support is far below acceptable standards. Add that to the list…

Maybe something for you to reflect on and improve? :)

It’s absolutely insane that someone gets penalized for selling a card above market value simply because they’ve built connections and networks to sell specific players that people are actively looking for. But sure, let people threaten and harass others, and ruin matches without consequences, as long as they’re buying packs ;)

Hi there. I'm very sorry to say, we're not able to help with bans over the EA Forums. What I recommend is submitting a dispute by using the instructions in the article here so that ToS can perform an investigation to see if the ban can be overturned. Thanks!
