What is going on with this forum?

I’ve been reading through many of the posts on this forum lately and am noticing a trend that is concerning. I may be misunderstanding but I thought this was supposed to be a place to post concerns and comments to be shared with the dev team. I understand that it’s also a place to discuss differences of opinion, but there’s a way to do that without being condescending and dismissive. Ive seen our community manager and another very frequent commenter be rude to a few folks lately and I don’t think it’s constructive. Telling posters they have a skill issue when they have a concern isn’t going to do anything but drive more players away. I love this game and have played it since 09. It’s very technically flawed, it’ll pull your heart out, but it’s hockey. Please don’t help kill it by making the player base further disgruntled.

There is never the intent to be rude. Especially when someone said they knew they weren't very good. There's not really a good way to be sensitive about varying skill levels. I always try to make that as soft as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes a person's skill level is the issue though. We are not all experts at this game. Some of us could use advice from the community to help improve. Which, is part of why these forums exist. They are a way for everyone to share their tips and strategies. I most definitely apologize for coming across as rude.

You never do. I'm guessing OP is referring to me.

Assertiveness is often perceived as aggressiveness. I try so hard to provide real in-game footage of mechanics some people are confused about. Some people take that as an attack. Nothing I can do about that.

And just to be clear, there are a lot of users here who post incredibly rude and condescending topics filled with rage and angst and incredibly disparaging comments about the technical ability of the people who make this game. Most of them are removed before people see them.

So although your topic is directed at EA and people like myself, this stuff goes both ways. I apologize to anyone who construed my posts as dismissive and condescending. Obviously not my intention. However, some users here could also chill out.
