Same here tbh. Not sure how I'd balance it and stuff, I posted a handful of different ideas of how I would do it. I would be afraid of them balancing it given this build haha 😄 😂
I think you capture as much data as you can now with how players are allocating attributes, get some pro players to give their 2 cents, then base each attribute on the corresponding values. Speed must be EXTREMELY costly. Xfactors need rebalanced AND points reallocated.
Then you have several options for year long progress.. either allow for players to go straight to 99 or have seasonal caps. You could have multiplayer achievement ovr caps.
You would also need to decide on how players switch builds.. do they need to start a new build if they need reallocated points or to have diff builds for diff positions/ modes? Personally I'd at least have every build have a set faceoff rating no matter your chosen position so that if a C wasn't on and a defenseman had to move up to play that role they could without an issue.
All that being said even if EA was extremely predatory about it and forced you to make several builds for diff modes/ positions I would still feel it would be a better system than what we have now, and lets be honest, they would make even more money. Everyone wins?
Currently we reset our builds each season.. we get absolutely broken builds dropping with speeds that defensemen can't replicate and they're locked behind a paywall. I dislike UT because it's predatory but at least you CAN grind for a better team.. WoC you can't just grind to get these unbalanced builds. Just a really bad look imo.
I just wish I could look at this game and have confidence they're taking it in the right direction even if it was small steps.. seems anytime one thing gets better other things get far worse and we end up with a product that looks less like hockey and more unbalanced/ arcade like. These builds are no different. I feel like the enthusiasm the devs have with this product are mirrored by the enthusiasm Celebrini had when voice acting in BAP 🤣 I will say the game did take a few strides in the right direction as far as gameplay goes.. it is just overshadowed by how broken some xfactors are.
