AI Defense broken

Question

I have commented on several posts about this.&nbsp; &nbsp;My friends and I are long time NHL fans that have been playing this game from the beginning.&nbsp; The AI defense in CHEL has gotten worse every year for the last couple of years.&nbsp; This year it is plain BROKEN.&nbsp; I watch as players skate right around or through the defensive players.&nbsp; The AI players do nothing.&nbsp; &nbsp;Not a stick extension, a hit, or a movement that would cause the human player to adjust their movement.&nbsp; We have made adjustments to the AI set up for our Squad and this has led to nothing different.&nbsp; It just seems like some games they are completely broken.&nbsp; I have read several comments from EA responding to this and those comments just infuriate me as I am sure it does others.&nbsp; I have seem them saying that we should make sure that a human player is playing defense or maybe we should make sure that if we are playing offense one person should always play back.&nbsp; OMG.&nbsp; This is supposed to be the best simulation Hockey game on the market.&nbsp; I don't believe that a wing would play back to help defense because they are not doing their job.&nbsp; Please fix this.&nbsp; It gets worse every year and this year is the absolute worse.&nbsp; There are human players that just make this their goal in the game.&nbsp; Skate down the side or right up the middle past the broken AI (cherry picking) and score easily.&nbsp; IT takes the simulation out of the game and makes it an ARCADE game.&nbsp; This is not what we are paying for.&nbsp; FIX the game.&nbsp; I know you are short staffed.&nbsp; Maybe take somebody off of the pack market and put them on this fix.&nbsp; Please, from all of the loyal NHL fans, fix this issue!

Although I am not disagreeing with you that the AI defense is trash; simple solution stop playing games with them.&nbsp; Find a Human D or learn to play D yourself.&nbsp; &nbsp;I know that seems harsh, but all teams are dealing with the same issue you are.&nbsp; We don't load up a game without a human D.&nbsp; Suicide to do so.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You are correct, in an ideal world that would be the best solution.&nbsp; Then you are telling me to play the game I am not allowed to play offense, only defense.&nbsp; Doesn't that seem silly.&nbsp;&nbsp;

You're of course allowed to play offense. If you're going to have AI D though, you'll need to have a forward that can back them up as needed. You can always allow drop in players on your club too. I've had good luck with these. In most cases, we get someone better than using AI D.

That is 100 percent true.&nbsp; You could do drop ins.&nbsp; you could recruit to get better players.&nbsp; I was only suggesting that this issue be fixed.&nbsp; What your telling to do is work around a broken system instead of fix it, if I am hearing you correctly.&nbsp; That is kinda what I expected.&nbsp;&nbsp;

It's not broken though. AI players were never meant to replace humans. If we have superstar AI players, people will just run with 2s to get easier wins. This is an online teamplay mode. It wasn't really designed to be a 2 player co-op game. You can do that already in Online Versus.
