Franchise Deep Dive Reveal Discussion - 10/4 8AM Pacific!

Okay, very cool about roster sharing! Thank you for listening to that feedback. 

Other than that it seems like almost nothing is different about Franchise Mode. Yeah, the X-Factor is new (I personally don’t care about it) and yeah we’re keeping a very cool feature with the expansion draft, but everything else is the same? A few questions:

1) Is development still broken? (IE: is it near impossible to develop a player without elite potential still? AND do older players still take forever to regress, where the majority of retirements after a few seasons are guys in their late 30s and early 40s?

2) If you start a franchise with 33 teams is the schedule still messed up, where you just play every team 2.5 times at random and the division standing still get messed up?

3) Can we still not edit things like player type so we can fix the obvious errors on created draft picks? (IE: someone has attributes that best suit a sniper and they’re a two-way forward)

4) Any new logos available when creating the 33rd team?

there was no real novelty but several ways to add that would have been easy
1. be able to make exchanges during the expansion to have choices not to choose such player
2. be able to have an expansion during the franchise that the gm votes during the summer (say after 5 years of franchise must be random) which would lead to a management of the team for the Expension or to be able to decide to go manage it
3.Put lottery pick protection during exchanges
4.management of the training of young people but also of the team to familiarize themselves with the tactics
5, mentor for our young people which would give an advantage to have veterans during the season
6, have relationship with other gm, hostile offer you lose the relationship, cheap also offers after several times which would be harder to make a transaction with them
7. have more than 23 players during the preseason
8, tournaments for 8 place like two years ago before entering the playoff (option to put it or not)
9.import photos and all for the team creation (logo) and that the team remains to save despite a roster update
10. to be able to lock players in the lineup so as not to have new lines everywhere when you do this automatically after an injury or an add or drop player

and several other small addition that would bring an evolution to the mode and the pleasure of playing

I like the new light background and darker text, the problem on the roster screen is the bright green color.

Anyway you could make it a darker green? Right now it's hard to see and bad on the old eyes.

The addition of roster sharing is awesome to see. Even if it’s not something I cared about and will probably never use, I know it was a huge request so it’s really nice to see it get in.

I will have to wait and see on Thursday how it all plays out, after seeing the deep dive I think it’s a bit of a mixed bag. I’m so glad they revamped coaching and have X Factors be a big part of chemistry so that it doesn’t seem so random now, I just hope the mode isn’t solely focused on finding those X Factors and everybody that doesn’t have one is as useless as certain players were in previous years. Will AI GM’s actually take this into consideration  and at least attempt to build a team that makes a little sense?

It’s definitely a cool factor for drafting as now there might actually be a certain player you target for every pick depending on their X Factor instead of past years when there wasn’t really anything separating players that are ranked closely together. I just hope it’s not another tedious task to manually scout it and at the end of the day potential and a players x factor is all that matters when drafting with no other changes to players that don’t have it. Does this mean it will be even easier to grab gems in late rounds

Overall, I am happy for the roster sharing guys and it continues to show that EA has listened to their customer base this year maybe more than ever and I’m glad they changed how chemistry works, I just personally would have preferred if they focused on improving and adding depth to some other features of the mode. No matter what the roster looks like if AI GM's are still dumb as nails, trades and signings have no depth and prospect development isn’t a big factor, the mode will still have a lot of the stale problems that it has for years.

Not gonna lie, I’m a wee bit annoyed that at the very least question 1 from my earlier post hasn’t been answered, let alone acknowledged, after 24 hours.

I have a hard time believing that they would leave this problem unfixed for 22 (a very hard time), but the lack of acknowledgment combined with how many problems they had last year at launch plus a new game engine does make me pretty nervous.

Exactly. There’s not a chance I’m buying this game until it’s confirmed that’s fixed. 

I would really like to see a LTIR into the game, so players may get injuries for several months (which happens often in reality), teams can then place these players on LTIR. I would also like to see that if we already know certain players will miss the beginning of the upcoming season, or even the whole upcoming season, that they will actually be doing this in the game. Would just add a reality factor. 

As well as I have mentioned before, and I see others have as well, adding the ability to add in a new franchise every 5 years or so of the franchise, to go along with actual league growth.
