Game freezing / crashing

Issue still happening. Can't complete any game without game freezing then crashing. Happens in game play only, all menus are fine. I had no issues during EA Play, but issues have been non stop since I have been playing the full game release. No other games freeze just NHL.

Hey, everyone.

If you're on PS5 or PS4 please review these steps below to see if we can help clear up the crashing/freezing. It's not a great experience and we're here to help with what we can to minimize this and let the team know what we're observing from the community. We'll report our findings up to the NHL team if these steps aren't putting a stop to it. 

I relayed these steps below from another similar thread for Xbox users, but it applies for PlayStation consoles too.

For those experiencing crashes, here are some tips we recommend:

1. If you have anything plugged into the console's USB drives try removing all those devices. I've seen some controller charging docks conflict with games in the past that lead to performance issues. I tried plugging in my phone charger in the past and that lead to slow menu navigation. Best to remove all devices and power cycle your console to see if there is any effect.
2. If you use an external hard drive, check to see if files are located on both drives. If so, you'll need to uninstall all the files from both drives and re-install. Make sure before you re-install, you enable all post-installation updates to go to the same drive. If you continue to experience crashes, try installing the game to the internal drive with the external drive detached.
3. Plug your console directly into the wall outlet. 
4. Clear up room on your hard drive if it's close to being full.
5. Power cycle your console with these steps below.

How to power cycle your PlayStation console

1. Touch the power button on the front of the PS4/5 for at least 7 seconds (until the system beeps twice).
2. Turn it back on after 5 minutes. Launch the game.

I only have two games on hard drive, and both work perfectly…

Did all the other stuff you said…nothing works….

These are the PlayStation Support steps for that error code. Have you tried the steps recommended by PlayStation here?

Interesting because NHL 22 is the only application that causes this…

Same here, game starts and when somebody scores he skates to the side and the game just shows him standing there and is unplayable. I have to simulate the rest of the game to complete it, in my career.
