Hi,This year version of NHL (16) brought a slower frame rate when playing online crating input lags (you press example pock check, and it takes a bit of delay before your player react). You can feel that the game is slow.When playing offline, it'a good 60 FPS and it's snappy and nice. We are 4 friends that bought NHL 16 on release day, one hard copy, and we all have the same issues and have reported to each others the same exact thing.EA if you read this, what are you going to do for this? Last year NHL 15 was about 50% of the games online had a slower FPS, now it's 100% of the games. Are you guys going to release a patch for this as no other games we have are that slow online (well not true, Battefield was), but we all heavy multiplayer and we feel that we have been ripped off as we can't play normally online with descent speed.Did I mentionned that I have two PS4? Both doing the same exact thing. Did I also say that I have brought my PS4 to a connexion over fiber to ensure that my cable wasn't the problem. For us, the problem is the game. Online needs to be optimized.Thanks and hope to see an update soon.

I'm having the exact same issue. I'm a fairly decent player and now I'm getting shut out by people I should steam role. I can't play defence or deke because the input lag is so slow. I'll push a button or move the joystick and my players don't respond for about a second making it easy for my opponent to walk by me or steal the puck. I'm such a huge fan of the nhl series, but this issue is making online games unplayable and very frustrating. It's not fun anymore. My friends ask me to come online so we can play with our eashl team and i don't even want to now because i'm useless being behind the play. The input lag happens to my friends sometimes but for me it's been every game. I don't experience this in any other games i own, just nhl. I've already optimized everything like opening ports and being hardwired and all of that. It's nhl... If this can't be fixed, i would really like a refund because the game is unplayable at this point.

Same thing here. My friends and I are all wired and if i can get a refund I am in for it. Hi again, I found something. The is a bit better if you play over wifi. I was trying all kind of things thinking its on my end, but no! The freaking game is optimized for wifi play, which really suck. I can see now that 3 ot 4 games out of 10 are playable when I had wifi instead of wired. But seriously; Wifi introduce all other kind of flickers issues. So EA, please fix our wired connexion!!!So I think that the rest of the 6-7 games out of 10 are people that I play against on wired. You clearly see that people worry about lag and they are wired to ensure faster respond time (ms).Anyways, where we feel the problem is, its EA ignoring all the posts about this issue and no reply.. not even a little .. oh we are investigating.. come on EA..

@solemay ; you are not alone and the slowness has nothing to do with the time of the day. It has to do between you and your opponent and the lag is because of unoptimized network settings in the code. EA 's job server is to initiate the connexion. This is the same problem that Warner Bro had with Mortal Kombat on PS3; wired users couldn't get online' only on wifi. Users had to wait for the Komplete Edition to have it fixed on wired and WB always ignored this. Go buy the game; it wont work wired.To resolve this issue, EA coders need to rewrite lines of code and maybe adjust MTU based on wired/wifi connexions that the PS4 is set or how often packets are fowarded to the opponents, it has to be different for wifi and for wired. I am not a game coder, but certified network architech/designer/administrator and can tell you the problem is in the code, not the network infrastructure as all other games are working ok, on WiFi it's a bit more playable and the access to a new vs game is way faster then last year. So their servers are fine.I'll suggest at first to set your Ps4 to the right region in the setting and if you have DSL Internet ,switch over to cable or even better to fiber.Secondly, there is a new update today; see if that help. One of my friend said he had one game with good frame rate tonight out of 5 games.On my side, i have continued working on finding a way to make wired working properly without success even with the new update. Movement input laggy and sometime you feel the game is in slow motion and games last way longer because of that slowness. I also shared my LTE from my phone and it's better then when i am wired. I have call a friend to try and he was surprised to see the same thing. It's so slow on wired that it's unplayable and making you beleive that it's better on LTE.On a final note, i have try different mtu packet size and same issue. Default on my network is 1500 and this has to stay like this.

I have analysed more and found the problem. It, s a BGP issue. Sometimes the path the PS4 is using to get to EA server is different. Its hit or miss. One day the best path is one route and the other day it's another one. What EA needa is more proxies. It seems to be affecting most users from North Canada/Us Easr coast. I went in Cancun Mexico and brought my ps4 and shared my LTE connexion and never had a lag issue playing about 15 games. I traceroute and I was getting bout 45ms to ea servera. From Calgary I am getting about about 85ms and its *, sometimes its 35ms and its perfect. When in Toronro, same *, when in Montreal same *. Went to vegaa (yes I travelled alot) and its was perfect. The problem is the BGP route that your provider use to talk to.other providers. Sometimes its more direct (less latencies) and sometimes is * (more.latencies). Bwcause the majority of people playing nhl are in Canada, it makes no sense we go to California's EA servers. The best way for them to fix this is to give a mode for peer to peer. If the ping between you and your friend is 25ms to 50ms it should be perfect. The problem is one going to EA server at 80ms to 120ms and the other end user going the samw respond time.. the mix is 240ms.. a slow game. BGP is dynamic routing, it uses a different for multiple diferent reasons to get to destination. If servers for east user were in Toronto, mtl users would be fine and the providers will just peer into their servers. Easy hey? Yes it is.. they have to invest in a good network guy and pay for server farms closer to their users that pays lot of money to play online.

I only lagg during peak hours like 7-12 pm east. During day I am lagg free but it really skips on me hard to play do you think it is ea or my service provider I started laggingon ps3 like 2 weeks before this game came out and still laggy but ya ONLY at night

@goingtobeatujr ; your problem is different and you should start a new post. It looks to me like a proxy issue, one of the server that EA use closed(closest) to you. All of my friends issues are happening at anything of the day, plus once the connexion is iniatiated, it's peer to peer between you and yout oppenent(s) using udp, no server involved other then when the game starts and when it ends. Different topic sorry!
