OK next newbie question...

Franchise mode Team Chemistry - will my players who don't currently fit the line Chemistry Impact / Line Fit thingy, ever fit? So at start of the season and both lead defencemen don't fit - If i keep the head coach and keep playing the defencemen will they (the defencemen) eventually get it and fit the line ? OR do I have to somehow try to find a non existent NHL Head Coach who can work with the majority of the team. I got to say this feels like a really clunky system, I get the idea but trying to get everything to fit is like doing a a task with my eyes closed and not enough tools

    You need to Scout the other defensemen in the league, and start trading.

    I also suggest hunting strats in your rookie scouting. For example, if your Coach's Pinch/Cycle, Pinch/Cycle, Pinch/Balance look for the best players that meet that. Don't take a Med Elite Balance/Shoot when you can get a Med Top4D with Pinch/Cycle who will actually fit your future scheme.

    Never select a coach that has "carry" "efficient" "don't block" for forwards and "balanced/balanced" or "hold line/anything" for defensemen as no player in future drafts will ever have these preferences. I'm not sure how this one has not been fixed in 3 years. But here we are.

    It's fixed now. I find Balanced, Carry, and Dump fairly regularly in 22. Hold I've found when you move a Forward to play defensive. I had two Centers playing defense on my AHL team, they did pretty well.

    As far as defense, I only find

    Balanced/Cycle, Pinch/Cycle, Pinch/Shoot, Balanced/Shoot, when scouting. Very wierd.

    It's not fixed. Once you're about 5 seasons in and every single prospect has the "no photo" icon, and its all computer generated players then they will not have "carry" "efficient" etc etc... 

    Also, its definitely not fixed if you have to put centers as defensemen. That's a "this game is broken beyond repair" indicator if there ever was one.

    I have one of my own. If I play a franchise mode as the Columbus Blue Jackets, will my “fan base” rating change from casual to devoted or hardcore? I’m not talking about the “local popularity” mind you but the actual “casual” fan base ratings?
