Unusually high ping to Central servers in EASHL

I've spoken to a dozen or so people in Western Canada and the Northwest USA and they all have the same issue as me. For whatever reason we get higher ping to the Central servers than to the Montreal (or "North East") servers despite being physically closer to the Central servers.  I am located in Vancouver by the way.

Doing speedtests on my computer to random Ohio and Montreal servers, I always get slightly lower ping to the Ohio servers though it's fairly close (usually around 60-65 ping).

But on NHL 21 I get about 67 ping to the Montreal/North East servers and 80-83 ping to the Central servers.  I have port forwarded all the xbox servers and the EA servers they have listed for NHL.  I have also tried using DMZ with no change.

This can't be an ISP issue since it involves many different ISPs in multiple Provinces and States.

    I have been using google's DNS for years, and even tried using cloudflare's DNS servers.  No difference

    I don't know if this pings the central servers since they're on Amazon AWS servers.

    Your test looks ok. Are you getting some lag or are you just noticing higher ping times?

    @EA_Aljo no lag/ping spikes or packet loss, just consistent ping times that are much higher than they should be.  It seems like most West players in a popular NHL 21 6v6 EASHL league (LGHL) are having this problem as well despite being closer to the Central server than the East/Northeast servers. (at least for Xbox, not sure about PS4)

    Just so I understand you right your gameplay is fine and there's no lag or input delay, but you're concerned about the ping times?

    @EA_Aljo there is more input delay with the higher ping times we get on Central, and it's noticeable.  Games feel more responsive on servers that are further away in the Northeast or East servers (depending where you are along the West coast).

    Thanks for the feedback on this. Unfortunately, I'll pass it on to the dev team. For now, the best I can do is go through some connection troubleshooting. Let me know if you want to do that.

    Thanks for letting them know.  I'll pass on trying to troubleshoot it, I've done everything imaginable to try to improve it to no avail.  And seeing as how this is impacting a lot of people, not just myself, I doubt there's anything I can do on my end.
