Okay... strange thing but after the latest patch update my beautiful Sims 4 icon/ shortcut that was on my desktop suddenly turned into one of those paper icons then whenever I would click on it, it said the shortcut had been deleted or moved and couldn't be opened. I know it's not a huge deal, I can still access it through origin but I have all of my Sims 3 on my desktop in the same area and it's kind of a weird tick/ preference thing to have my sims 4 Icon. It just bothers me not having it. Is there any way I could get it back?

Depends on your system, but for Windows 10 try this:1) navigate to the location of the Sims 4 application on your computer, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin2) select the Sims 4 application, e.g. TS4_x64.exe3) right click, select Send to, then select Desktop (create shortcut)

Not only you, same here happened. And I can't find the .exe file anywhere to make an icon from either which is odd. It's like the .exe file just vanished. Will keep digging and see if I can find it somewhere, but it certainly isn't in the Origin games folder.

If you can't find the .exe file, check that the Game library location hasn't changed:1) Open Origin2) click the Origin tab, go to Application settings3) click Installs and saves4) under On your computer, the location of the save folder is listed in Game library location

If you're super OCD like me and like your desktop icons sorted and ordered in a certain order, like by date, and making a new one would mess that up, you can fix the current icon by right clicking it, selecting properties, and in the Target line where it says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4.exe" just add a _x64 to make it into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\TS4_x64.exe" and the icon will show up again. This happened when they updated the sims to only support 64 bit systems. Everyone's systems might be a little different and have different locations for their games, but all you really have to do is change the end. Doesn't matter if it doesn't completely match mine.

Hello,
Thanks for your assistance. However, I did do that already and was unable to find it in the specified folder location.
I did find it eventually in another folder. Not sure why it ended up there but I probably had set it to that at some point without remembering!

@zydao I’m unable to find the .exe file either. And according to origin “game library location” hasn’t changed.
When I go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin all I have in there is TS4_x64 (no .exe on the end of it) is that the same thing? Or will this just launch the 32 bit version (I’ve seen that mentioned elsewhere)
When I look at the properties of TS4_x64 it says
Type of file : Application (.exe)

@JulieCharbonneau Yes, TS4_x64 is what you want; you don't see the .exe because your OS is set to hide extensions. The x64 means it's 64-bit. But you can separately check whether Origin is launching Sims 4 in 64-bit: Open your Origin library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties, then Advanced Launch Options, and you should see whether the game is set to run in 32- or 64-bit.

I could find the exe file, but it's called TS4_x64, not "The Sims 4". All my other Origin games has their proper name on the exe file. This isn't really a problem, it just looks so odd to me that the nomenclature isn't the same as for all my other Origin games.
