Sims 4 no play button

The steam version of The Sims 4 is only available for PC- you won't be able to play this version on a Mac. 

You can download the Mac version of the base game for free from Origin and play using that version instead.

I have downloaded Origin for Mac through thesims4.com, but the same thing is still happening. It automatically downloaded the Steam version of the game onto Origin and I can't find how to delete it or how to download a Mac version.

Hi, I was having a very similar problem, although I have never been able to open the game. It seems that it has downloaded the Steam version and I am on MacBook. I used the Origin reset tool and removed the Sims 4 from the game library of my Steam account, but it was still in My Game Library and I still couldn't open it/was the Steam version when I reopened Origin. I tried right-clicking to uninstall, but the option didn't show up in the drop-down menu.

I'm on the Mac Origin Client and when I go to my game library, the Sims 4 game appears faded to be slightly desaturated and light. When I open the details of the game, it shows no play button. I have tried rebooting my MacBook, quitting and restarting Origin, and signing in and out of my EA account. I will link an image of what the game details screen and Sims 4 icon look like. I also have not launched the game at all - it hasn't been working since I downloaded Origin. I have tried using the Origin reset tool and removing the Sims 4 game from my linked Steam account, but the Sims 4 Steam version appears in my library nonetheless. I tried right-clicking to uninstall, but the option didn't show up in the drop-down menu. I will link some images of what I see.

Did you already try claiming the Mac version of the base game in the Origin store directly? 

I looked in the game store in Origin, but the only option was to view the game in My Game Library. I tried right-clicking on the game icon, too, but the uninstall option does not show up in the drop-down menu.

I can't unlink it for several months, because I linked it two days ago. I am going to try creating a new EA account.

I set up a new account and now the Sims 4 is downloading onto my Mac! Thank you so much, I'm sorry that this took so long.
