I cannot connect to Spore's online services

I bought Spore on Steam a long while ago and I haven't been able to connect to in-game online services when logging in to my EA/Spore.com account.

I have been informed by EA Advisors that I need to contact Steam Support for issues with Spore instead of them and that they "can't confirm third-party purchases" from places like Steam.

I have tried sending screenshots of my Steam transaction history page with my Linked Steam account and Email as well as being willing to send my original email from Steam of purchasing the game.

Steam Support's page of Spore says to reach out to EA for Support issues.

So which is it?

EA help forums, Steam community forums, and Reddit forums have all told me to make an advisor ticket and that would actually help me, but it hasn't.

  • Hi! Community Manager for Spore here~ we were experiencing a hiccup with this process for the past few weeks. The issue should be resolved now, so please try reaching out to EA Support again for help.

    Linking your Steam account and EA account isn't enough. EA Support can help add the entitlements you need on your account to be able to register an account and enable online access, which you can do on Steam afterward.
