It Takes Two language Issue

Good afternoon, I have been playing It Takes Two with another person for a few months now and have beat the game once and restarted the game for another play through. We made it pretty far but the spoken commentary and cutscenes are now in Spanish. The game somehow changed by itself without any setting being altered on the game or on the switch itself. I’ve followed Googles instructions on clearing the switches cache and archiving the game but when downloaded again, the game is still in Spanish. I only speak English and this makes the game almost unplayable. Is anyone else having this issue ahead of the switch 2 release?

Hi there, archiving the game keeps your save file and profile settings on the console, which is why redownloading loaded the same configuration back in.

Try these steps to see if it helps:

    1. Check in-game sound settings: Go to Options > Sound from the main menu and check if the dialogue/spoken language was changed to Spanish separately from your subtitles.
    2. Check Player 2's profile: If you're playing co-op, check whether Player 2's Switch profile or account region is set to Spanish, as the game can sometimes inherit settings from the second player.
    3. Refresh Switch language settings: On your console, go to System Settings > System > Language. Switch temporarily between English (US) and English (UK), let the console restart, and launch the game again to force it to reload the language pack.

If none of those work, check for corrupted audio files before doing a full reinstall:
Go to System Settings > Data Management > Manage Software > It Takes Two > Check for Corrupt Data. If it finds an issue, it will prompt you to redownload only the damaged files. If the check comes back clean and the audio is still stuck, a full delete (Delete Software, not Archive) and fresh reinstall would be the next best step.

Let us know if that helps.
