Medal of honor Airborne installation failure

Today I purchased the "Medal of Honor Airborne". However, the game installation always fails.

The logs indicate following error:

I have a modern Windows 11 PC and the "Medal of Honor Allied Assault" game that I also bought today does run. So compatibility for older games should not be an issue. I also tried usual solutions including redownloading, clearing caches, running as administrator, manually creating and copying the folder/file under local user directory etc. etc.

I wanted to manually change the referenced path (i.e. "\EA Games\Medal of Honor Airborne(tm)\Config\") but I haven't found that file.

Any idea how to solve this? Help is very much appreciated! Thanks!
