This can have many causes.
If you starting up the game, switch under "Settings" in a smaller screen resolution.
Don't forget this is an older game, it doesn't support the current formats
Your Save file may be corruped, you can fixed.

I meant to say every time i start the game there is no planets to play from meaning i can't play the game and my creature if there is no planet to play on.
