Friend of mine having this exact issue. @stealthturkey Are you on the 10 hour trial or the full game? Just asking because my friend is on the trial. Curious if the trial.exe is the issue.

Okay so, I had my friend login with my account to try the game non-trial. It worked. So we thought okay must be the fact that it's a trial. He got back on his account, upgraded to EA Play Pro, and still crashed. Then, I logged in with HIS account, and I crash on my PC with his account. My account opens and runs the game fine on both PCs, his account, however, crashes on both PCs. So this is some kind of account issue. This is wild.

Annoying!  I'm glad I'm not the only one, though.

So about the trial, I noticed the games files have both the trial and the regular version.  I've tried both, and they both crash.  I even tried deleting the trial version from the game folder, and it still crashes.

I definitely have PRO PLAY, and have had it for a while.

@PaPaJOKe, thanks for the information.  It has to be a login credential issue or something.  They just put SMB4 on the Xbox PC app, and when I launch the game from there,with my already-installed copy that won't launch from the EA App, it works perfectly!

I have the exact same issue. Just installed the game from game pass pc app and once it gets to the SMB4 logo, CRASH, tried everything u said above but still struggling with that *.

Same Issue, Me too button hit have followed all the steps above crashes after intro.  This may get a lot of hits now it's out on gamepass

Hello, i have the same issue than the other guys there. My games launches normally, but right after the intro cutscene, when the games name appears, the game instantly closes. If i may give the informations here : 

My EA ID is : WazoKiBrul

I'm not getting any error messages

Like i said just above, the game is crashing right after the intro cutscene.

I access it via EA Play (i've got EA play via Game Pass)

Try disabling your internet and launching the game, then reenable the internet. I think its an issue with our cloud profile

Disabling internet worked!  It launches fine with no internet.

I thought maybe creating some type of save file (franchise) could possibly overwrite the cloud data when back online, but it still crashes when connected to the internet.

@EA_Illiumwe have it narrowed down, and I think @FloatyPoint is correct.  Some sort of cloud issue.

I tried to reinstall today.

There was a new pop-up, NOT the EA app, but a separate Origin login page to give my computer permission to run this game.

Signed in and..........

It still crashes.

I had the same exact issue and disabled internet and it worked.

This needs to be fixed. I should not have to disable my internet every time I want to play this game.

Ahh you legend!  Disabling my network adapter finally let me launch this!  Thanks bud

As for EA:

This game is shockingly badly made it launches in 640 x 480 no matter what I selected for my options the previous launch my resolution should be 5120 x 1440 what kind of 90s game are you making that needs to launch in 640 x 480!

It crashes on launch if I have an active internet connection - how long does it take to find the * call you are making at the menu screen and just delete the thing!  After I reactivate the internet connection the game says I'm "Online" so you clearly manage it better after launch.  Just use that!

Fix your game!  This thread is too old to still be an issue for any developer let alone a major one.

The list of troubleshooting I've done, including reformatting my entire computer, is on the verge of insanity.

AND IT STILL ISN'T FIXED

After weeks of never having a problem, this started with me, too.

The only fix is disabling internet.

It never happened until I changed my EA username and nickname, so I suspect that's causing me some problem with the cloud syncing -- something not matching up. Changing my name back to my old one did not fix the problem, however.

How ridiculous that there is no fix for this issue.
