Spore Creatures not showing up in Sporepedia
Hey, I've spent the past few hours finding out, why some of my creatures were not showing up in sporepedia.
As I've been looking for answers, I saw that many people had a similar issue.
I am playing on steam and bought the game there. My Spore is linked to my EA/Origin account.
But Creatures weren't showing up, even though they had the ingame icon for shared.
This seems to be somehow connected to the autoupload or something.
A few things are important: make sure, that ALL used parts are registered to your EA Account aswell. For me it was the case, that Creepy&Cute were not registered as easily as the Basegame and Galactic Adventures. So I had to get the Key from steam and manually redeem it on my EA account.
You can make out any creature which won't show up in your online sporepedia, by checking if you can see it's used games.
If it's not showing its used games:
- go into edit mode
- tweak the creature a bit
- hit the save button (not the checkmark)
- now hit the checkmark
- there should be a new copy of your creature now, without being marked as shared
- click on the new creaturecopy and share it
- (delete the old creature)
This is a simple problem, autoupload does not actually share the creature because it wasn't implemented correctly. It marks the creature as shared but doesn't actually share it. That's why making a non-autouploaded version of the creature and sharing that works. It's a bit annoying but mostly harmless
