From Finder, click on the "Go" menu and select "Go to Folder..."
Type "~/Library/Preferences/SPORE Preferences/" without the quotes and hit enter
double click on the file named "config"
Within the config file, change "flobackbuffer" = "0" to "flobackbuffer" = "1"
Close the file and restart the game. It should work now. Only took me six months to figure out how to find the config file...
it still didnt work for me please help

Ugh!!! Please help. Changing the 0 to a 1 didn't work for me. Is there anything I can do? I cannot get Spore to open. ☹️
I've contacted EA probably 6 times. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, created a new computer profile to open the game (unsuccessful), changed the 0 to 1.
I'm on a Mac - El Capitan10.11.5
heeellllllppppppp!

Hi @richcap,
Have you ever tried to start the game via cider exec !?
1. Make a rightclick on the Spore icon ,
2. Say package contents,
3. Select the MacOS folder
4. Choose one of them
