Spore keeps freezing :(

I was able to download the game off the ea app and make my little guy fine, apart from having to press a few buttons on loading screens, up until I got to add legs to him, that's when things went a little wonky. I was only able to progress by pressing the windows key or ctrl alt delete, and even then it would just be still images of the tutorials and cutscenes, before it froze entirely. I would really appreciate any help with this as making my little organism brought me so much joy :') Attached is my dxdiag!
