Spore Steam purchase: no CD key available, unable to register

Spore Steam purchase: no CD key available, unable to register

I purchased Spore on Steam. When I try to register using my EA account, I receive “There was an error connecting to the Spore servers.”

Steam’s Manage → CD Keys option does not open a window or display a key. EA Help says live advisors don’t support this issue and directs me here.

How can I register my Steam purchase to my EA account for online access? I have proof of purchase available for EA Support.

    Hi Taitonic​, I’m very sorry you were directed to the forums for this. The information you received from EA Help was incorrect in this case.

    This isn’t something we can resolve from the forums, as we don’t have access to account entitlements, purchase validation, or the tools needed to register the Steam purchase to your EA Account.

    You’ll need to contact EA Help again and ask them to review the Spore entitlement on your account. Since you have proof of purchase available, please make sure to mention that when you contact them.

    I know it’s frustrating to be redirected back after already speaking with support, and I’m sorry for the extra runaround.
