Forum Discussion
You've really posted this in the wrong section (General Discussion would have been more appropriate) but what are you hoping to be able to do with a mouse?
Thank you for the update regarding the best place to post this.
I have read that players could not get it to work with a mouse. You can click and navigate in-game, but not swing the golf club.
The talk then was about having to use a programmable mouse not just a standard mouse.
To your knowledge is that info correct?

There is no mouse swing feature in the game. I've heard nothing about programmable mice but can only guess people may be trying to configure them as controllers in some way so that the game sees the movement like a controller analogue stick. I play on PS5 myself.

I would be buying the PC version from the STEAM platform.
My understanding is that the 3 click option to hit the ball which I and many other PC players use doesn't work with just any mouse.
Apparently you can use it to navigate around the menus but not for that 3 click option if my understanding of the issue is correct.
So then users start talking about having a programmable mouse.
If that was the case to buy the deluxe version would cost me A$114 plus another A$55 for a decent programmable mouse.
Hence the hesitancy to buy the game. If I could be assured that all features could be controlled with my normal HP mouse that would be fine.

There is a disadvantage regarding the 3-click swing and its execution from a controller button v a keyboard key. The key has significantly more travel before generating the click as compared to the controller button, which has very short travel. That difference makes timing the clicks much more difficult on a keyboard as compared to a controller. EA should allow a regular mouse click to be used in the 3-click execution. Regarding the programmable mouse topic, that sounds like people trying to accomplish what EA has not - allowing the mouse to generate the clicks for the 3-click swing. Assigning the A key to a mouse button could be a functioning workaround.

I think this will depend on the keyboard. The button travel on my PS5 controller and the keys on my laptop is pretty much the same. Adding a mouse click option does seem like a very reasonable request to me though.
