3-click players in PGA Tour

Hey EA, how about you address this at last? 

I will preface by saying that I do understand the 'why' of not wanting to put 3 click in with those using controllers, as it is a very different gaming experience, however your solution to the issue is very far from 'fair for all players'. 
 
You block 3 click players from all but the arcade daily tournaments, yet very frequently you throw the 'participate in a daily tournament' into the daily quest; it's been multiple times this past week. 

So you want us to spend the points we earned doing yesterday's daily, plus more, to enter a competition that will pay back less than we can earn?

(Being paid in tickets is totally useless to 3 click players, thanks to blocking 3 click in anything but arcade...) 

You say that 3 click can't do tournaments to make things 'fair' on all players. 
All players, really? 

Given that you make participation in the tournaments a requirement to complete the daily quest, how is that fair? 

Fair could be to 'pin' the daily 4 hole tournament as arcade mode.  

 
Fair could be addressed by having a separate 3 click area overall. 

Fair for the sake of the daily quests could be a 'free for all' daily tournament that doesn't cost, but the only reward it gives is 'participation credit' for the daily quest. It would de-incentivize cheating, and still give people the credit they need, if you insist on leaving them as part of the daily quests.

Fair would and should be finding a way to allow all players to have equal opportunities to earn the only currency that you accept as payment for specialisations, once career mode and challenges have been completed. (Go do some math folks, and work out how long it will take a 3 click player to earn a legendary spec by doing the limited things you have left them with, especially with the number of missed days due to the tournaments preventing earnings...)

Fair would be not implementing systems that prevent people from earning the pittance you pay for the daily quests. 
 
Fair isn't the bait and switch that has been pulled so far. 

You promised 3 click before the game was launched, then when you gave it, it came with a cost: the cost of being cast aside and told that we can't participate. 

Those limitations are something you completely fail to mention it in the product description, just as you failed to mention it pre-release, so yes, I do feel justified in saying you pulled a bait and switch. 

@Noya_WesaI do agree and sympathize with your predicament.

I think the problem might be with the pure number of 3-click players. I have seen a drastic drop in participation in the tournaments as it appears people have stopped playing.

But I agree there should have been something made available for all of us. As 3-clickers are as much a part of the community as anyone else.

Put do remember that the 3-click swing was added late in development, almost as an afterthought. So how much support should you expect to receive...? I cannot answer that.

Yeah, I have noticed there seems to be far fewer entries on the days when the arcade 4 hole comes up, as of the players just don't want to play any more. ☹️ 

 

It strikes me as a bit strange that they haven't managed to come up with a solution to allow 3 click play though, given the claims they made about accessibility before the game was even launched. 

 

Also when thinking back to when I first started playing golf on the PC, it was back with the old EA TW games they did all those years ago that had both 3 click and mouse swing support, and my mind simply asks, "why can't they look back and figure out how things work?" 

To be fair: It would be completely unfair to stick the 3 click players and the analog swing players together.

That being said, it would make sense to

- either give full support for 3 click players with their own tournament section, own tickets (tickets earned using 3 click cannot be used for weekly analog tournaments and the other way around) etc etc, even if 3 click was an afterthought. That is, if a sufficient numbers of players actually utilize the 3 click mechanic.

- at least give an alternative "3 click task" whenever the "complete a daily" pops up.


With regards to tournament participation: yea it gotten less, but i think that's because the skill ceiling and accompanying level is rather high these days, so people think twice about investing their reward points / tickets for the increased chance of loosing more than they win.

I agree with that point entirely, there is no true comparison to be made between them. Swing stick is always going to be that bit harder to control, 

The alternatives are (in my opinion at least) what should be looked at, to give an equivalent chance to earn the daily rewards, rather than marginalising one group or another.

Fairness for all is what EA said they are trying to achieve by setting things as they did, but their aim was off.

To be fair you have a "free" to enter tournament for swingers only. You should have a free to enter tournament for three clickers only. And they can't figure out why people think it's unfair.

Anyone found the "Knights Favorite Clothing' challenge to be impossible too? Its asking me to make 10 putts from outside 55ft???

And another day to say thanks for nothing EA, as you exclude 3 click from the daily quest again. 

What's that you say, pay more points to enter than I'll get back? get to f... 

Is there any wonder why so many players hold your company in complete contempt? 

Dear devs, if you want respect, try giving some to the players, until then, you get only what you deserve.
