PGA Tour unable to start a private match
Putting aside the massive issue that there is no turn play online, my friend and I never were successful at getting a private match game started. We play all the time in 2k, I set up a private match, search for him, and send him an invite. It still works for us in 2k.
Last night we spent an hour trying to do this, and are going to try again tonight and just play the way it is now (battle royal basically). He can search for me in the PS5 and find me, send an invite, I can do the same for him, we each tried dozens of times, but neither of us ever got an invitation and were not able to start a match.
Really at my wits end trying to figure this out. Nothing about our privacy settings has been changed, all notifications are on, accept friend requests on, etc. And as I said we can still easily find each other in 2k.
PLEASE help with this or I basically have no reason to play this game anymore. I love it bought we both bought the game and PS5s exclusively so that we could move on from 2k and play each other in private matches, and see each other's shots (turn play). I understand that EA is aware of the many people upset about no turn play at this time, but can someone PLEASE tell me how we can find each other in a private match lobby? We are both picking our created characters, is that the issue? Must one of us pick a pro?

When you have a moment, can you and your friends try the following steps and check if this continues?
- Quit the game and other running apps from Quick Resume (For Series X|S consoles)
- Remove any connected device, or additional USB's from the console then restart the Xbox and check
- Check for updates
- Try the steps in our Connection and Advance Connection Guides
- Open you're Xbox NAT Type
- Change DNS settings (You can use the public google DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, secondary: 8.8.4.4, unless there is a different DNS you would rather use)
- Persistent Storage
- Go to settings > Select Device & Connections > Then Blue-Ray
- Select Persistent Storage > Clear Persistent Storage
- Alternate Mac:
- Go to settings > Select General > Then Network settings
- Go to advanced settings > Alternate Mac address > Select clear
- Select restart
