EA PGA Golf dying a slow death?
I actually believe it is generous to say it's slow...
I was really excited for this game and wanted it to succeed in the worst way.
My personal opinion is that we stay engaged in something if it continues to challenge us. It makes us keep coming back as long as we feel there is a chance to complete the task. Like an end level boss in an RPG... as long as we feel we can eventually find a way to beat it we will return.
If there is no challenge and the outcome is preordained there is no reason to continue to play.
People have gotten bored and are looking for their next challenge or are going back to an old one.
This game potentially has lots of life in it, but not in its current state. New content is not going to save it... I implore the developers to remodel the gameplay to bring some challenge to the game without doing so artificially (ie. exaggerated/erratic dispersion zones).
The ability to remove the reticule and faster green speeds would be a good start.
Predefined settings need to be adjusted... if you don't have them in real life they should exist in the settings..
ie. Reticule, Swing Meter... etc...
I'm trying to like the game but find I am no longer playing it. And I'm a bit of a completionist at heart.
Where I would play multiple (full 18 hole) tournaments in career mode, I can barely grind out 9 holes at a time now. Not because its a challenge but a chore... because even with the AI at 100% the end result is the same.
And I don't want them to inflat the scores of the AI to an unrealistic result. I need them to enhance the experience and get my scores down.
Golf is an easy game to play, but a difficult one to perfect. I think a lot of us require that difficulty and challenge to keep playing this game.
Well along with the multiplayer and Country Clubs brought up to industry norms.
Sorry just me venting a bit on a Friday.
