I'm having the same issue - what is the cause and why do I need to wait 24 hours after paying £75 for early access?

There are a few things that can trigger this message to come up, for more information you can check out our Help Article: Download and Play your games
If you get a message that says: Too many computers have accessed this account’s version of [game name] recently. Please try again later.
This is because you can only install your game on up to five computers per 24-hour period, as mentioned in our Terms of Service.
Here are some things that can count as a new computer:
- using a different computer
- changing the hardware in your current computer
- using a virtual machine
- using a cloud gaming service.
It can take up to 24 hours for you to be able to relaunch the game. If you're getting the error after 24 hours, let us know so we can help.
Thanks!

Hi I am getting the same error.
I only have one PC and have not installed the game elsewhere.
I have not made any hardware changes to my PC
I am not using geoforce now or any other streaming service
I paid 60 pounds for this game and the only help offered on this forum is wait 24 hours
Perhaps you can tell me what is causing this and how I can resolve it now so I can play the game I actually paid for today rather than wait until tomorrow and see if it works then.
OK, what gives. And if I installed my game on only 2 PC's instead of 5. Why I am still getting this message, that I cannot play on because to many PC's have accessed. But I for a fact know that I have only 2 of them and none other can access my account because of MFA auth.
Beep this sh*t of an EA app. And force to use App even if you buy games on Steam is also bu***t.
- @EA_Illium Eliminate this dumb restriction. Do you guys not realize your services is on cloud gaming and affects it because of this dumb restriction?
I have this issue with Jedi Survivor - the game crashing seems to trigger a new count even though it's the same computer and the same hardware. Waiting 24 hours is not a solution, it's a workaround to the problem that your software is not doing it's job properly and incorrectly counting the number of installations!
Can you please update with how this can be reset, when a fix will be forthcoming, or how you will be compensating your customers for arbitrarily removing access to paid-for software for 24 hours - do I get a 24 hour credit back on my Play subscription for example?
I have only ever installed my game on one PC and I keep getting this error about too many computers...
I did reinstall Windows twice over the past two days due to Jedi Survivor constantly locking up my PC, requiring a reboot.
- @MrAspectsTTV Almost the same issue, I have reinstalled my OS twice today and am getting the same error. Jedi Survivor was not working on my OS, crashing before even a splash screen, so I reinstalled Windows and yay it worked. I played for a few hours, and then later installed the rest of my apps etc again. I went to play again and it was crashing again before launch. So I reinstall Windows, intending to thoroughly debug what is cause the crash, and now I have this message, despite it being the same computer, so now I cannot play the game, or debug it, or reinstall any of my other apps.
I haven't done any of those things mentioned, and I can't access the game. Just trying to access the game like I'm supposed to. I'm new to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass. I was already skeptical. I was about to pay for the Pro subscription until I remembered I had a free trial because I bought a new laptop a month ago. This is not something I want to have to deal with. Thanks for your responses.
Also, the game keeps crashes because my internet keeps going out. What was the purpose of downloading 47GBs of data? The internet in my area is terrible. I imagine my experience would be the same if I actually purchased the game. I travel 30 minutes just to get/use a better connection.
I realize it takes a lot of time and effort for this to work. But as a new person who was looking forward to paying for and using this service, I think I'll save some money after this short experience with EA Play. I'm sick.
- @EA_Barry it's been exactly 48 hours and it's still the same.. please help me now.
What a joke you cant use a cloud gaming services in 2023
Hi guys, DO NOT BUY this game if you're using cloud gaming service. It's pain in the *. I paid for the game but because of this dumb policy I'm not able to play. I would never buy anything from this company ever again!
doesn’t work after 24 hrs, after 3 days of not playing i decided to try play the game it had the issue on and it still wouldn’t work, i’ve uninstalled the game, app, made a whole new account with the game and it still doesn’t work
Can you tell me,how it works,FOR EXAMPLE:I play in EA FC 24 on the cloud gaming virtual computers.I launch the first session at 1AM of 1 March, and the fifth session will be at 23 PM same day.In this case, when will be a cooldown:after 24 hours since the last session or at 1AM of 2 March?
And another question:what if I didn`t launch 5 different sessions during 24 hours,is it true that I can continue playing the game not having the error: "too many computers...."- @danjbirch Honestly, what a waste of time and money! Glad Fifa parted with them!
Yesterday I have tried to install FC24 on one computer. The game was not able to launch due to this unsolved issue ( https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/EA-FC-24-Not-Launching-after-Splash-Screen/td-p/12956190/page/294 ).
So today I have tried to install it on another computer just to know if at least one of them will be able to launch the game.
It was a real pleasure to read that i have accessed it from too many computers, but if i read this issue i have to say that i did not install it on five(!!) computers.
Now I have to wait 24 hours.
I am just sharing my user experience with you.
I have the same problem, can you reset this counter?
Same here this game is a joke it's meant to give you joy not constant headaches, I can't believe I paid money for this absolute joke software that crashes then says your license isnt activated followed by too many PC's when its only ever been installed on one PC
Worthless EA - I reached out to chat support who said to reinstall the game and THEN do nothing for 24 hours and then I'should' be able to access the content I paid for. I purchased the game 4 hours ago, and had an issue with my game controller, so installed it on a different PC, and instantly got the 'accessed by too many computers" message, and then going back to my main PC, can no longer get in for the same reason. It says to "try again later" - but we're being told to wait 24 hours? and looking through commentns, some people are going on 2-3 days? what kind of BS is this? and the 'official' EA rep here says it happenns if install it on 5 differentn computers within 24 hours, and none of us have done that! honestly, who installs it on 5 diff PC's anyway, and if so, it's our product that we purchased so WTF does EA care how many times we install it.
I haven't bought an EA game in a long time and now I remember why, lets just hope the refund gets processed faster than 1-2 weeks it sounds like. They will surely take our money instantly, and then when their crap product doesn't work, take their sweet time getting us refunded. How is this company even still in business.

They're in business by making lots of money on consoles games, certainly not with a few thousands sales for PC. That's why they stopped making TW for PC in the first place. EA is boasting over 5 millions users after the first week of their new College Football game and they didn't make the same mistake as with this game, they didn't even bother to make the game for PC. And if they ever make another golf game, I'm pretty sure they won't make it for PC. Not worth the headaches.
- Katybee_131312 months agoSeasoned Ace
I agree, making the game for PC was an epic fail. If EA ever decide to make a new game, I can't see them wasting their time on PC again. College Football 25 is a great example, TW13, TW14 and EA Rory were not for PC either.
- dom_b_unit11 months agoSeasoned Newcomer@MrAspectsTTV Same issue. Not even got to play the game yet. Had 5 crashes before it's even launched and now I can't even try for another 24 hours...
facing same issue even after waiting 24 hours. Is it fixed for you or you got your refund?
what do you expect from ea, great games, but interface very poor, the ea app has a ton of bugs, like mine, it counted as new computers due to the app's own bug and i had to reinstall the game, and still need to wait for 24h, like what on earth!
