ALL swings (except putts) when i hit the ball my line plane is straight (imagine taking a ruler and making a line on a piece of paper, thats how straight-most ot the time) EA, care to explain how my ball goes off plane by YARDS, if im aiming down the right side of a fairway and my ball lands in the left side rough, (no wind) theres a problem, and this happens 70% or more, tee shots more than anything, buts still sickening seeing my ball go from aiming right to going down the left side or vice versa

I'd say the RNG has an overbearing input, especially on drive shots.With a golfer that is 99 OVR, using the legendary precision driver spec to get that 85 accuracy from it, going into quick play and doing custom gameplay settings to min/max the options to enable full on easy mode, including setting the wind to 1 to 2 mph there can be massive deviations from the expected flight and landing zone of the ball even if the shot is well lined up, shaped accordingly and hit as a perfect/perfect.Like 20 yards or more to one side or the other.Often, if there's a bunker nearby but not inside the supposed dispersion zone (and I don't just mean within a couple of yards, I'm talking even within 20 yards or so) the RNG will often decide that the bunker was my actual aim point and it turns on the hidden tractor beams beneath. My ball will aim for and land in the bunker, even though the bunker was multiple yards away from the edge of the dispersion zone.Also water hazards, they clearly suck. I mean they must suck quite literally, either that or my ball is occasionally overcome with the deep desire to go for a swim, even though I was aiming at the opposite side of the fairway to keep it away from the water.A lot of it simply doesn't feel at all correct, either within game terms or in reality.The RNG should not have that level of input on the outcome of the shot, ever.

@IrieGibbonzI am fully leveled up with the top specs vc can buy: Cameron Champ Driver , Patrick Cantlay Wood, Lexi Thompson Hybrid, Tony Finau Iron and Wedge, Dustin Johnson Ball. In addition, my accuracy attributes are good. Yet the ball goes where it wants to go. I aim left but ball goes right towards rough or bunker even though shot meter says perfect perfect. If the daily quest requires a sand save or par save, I aim for the rough or sand to get the objective; this is when the ball go straight and perfect at the green.

@Noya_Wesa Well said. The bunker has the tractor beam that can drag the ball as far as 50 yards. For example, I used a wood with a 283 yard range to avoid a bunker at 333 yards from starting point. The ball still ends up in the bunker. It seems like the ball needed Josh Allen’s help to make a TD pass to the sand. My player is 99 ovr.

@ragingsaint Depends on where your skills points are at. Driving Accuracy, Approach Accuracy, and Short Game Accuracy play a role in your issue.If you don’t have Gold on your Shot Type, the mishit factor is enabled pushing your shots to and fro as well.With my current set-up I have zero accuracy issues unless it’s a power drive trying to thread the needle on a green that has bunkers on both sides. Despite having Gold Power Drive, I’m still not surgically straight 100% of the time. My driving accuracy isn’t 10 so that may improve if I added more points.

@ragingsaint I just treat it as standard operating procedure. The ball goes where it wants. I feel I can actually affect the shot only when I am in the scoring zone, say inside 100 yards.

RNG always been a part of EA Golf games, consider it a landing zone - i'd argue it wouldn't be feasible to aim for an individual blade of grass irl and expect to hit that with 100% change on perfect execution neither.

Also when you level up certain skills, the landing zone becomes considerably smaller. Getting rid of the mechanic would defeat a big chunk of the purpose to level up in the first place.

It’s still absurd. 🙂 I have been playing golf games for 30yrs now. Never anything like this nonsense.

I haven't started career mode yet until they bring in the option to choose 2 rounds. However what you describe RagingSaint happens to me in the challenges but mainly with approaches to the greens.
I could hit a shot with a 4 mph wind, direction right to left for example. Aim the ball slightly right of the hole, hit a straight shot, and the ball does what I expect. Then when replaying the same challenge it can stay right or over compensate with the wind and go miles left having played a straight shot with the same 4 mph wind. The game disc has gone back in its box, I await the next update.

@Noya_WesaWhen I use my fully spec'd character they go relatively straight, but I agree with everyone here that there are lots of irregularities in the swing results.

Especially when you execute what appears to be a perfectly straight swing path with perfect timing and have the ball land well outside the dispersion zone.

The game should be influenced more by swing input and less by RNG. But the swing input needs to be more difficult to execute than it currently is.

I'm sorry but i don't have this problem - the ball goes where it supposed to go - obviously there's still wind and elevation to consider, but generally i don't experience what you describe.

For real though, there's people saying "no wind" and then go on to ramble about how their shots are inaccurate, when in fact there is no "no wind" in the game. it's always at least 1 or 2mph - which his not al lot but still enough to alter the trajectory of your shots.

My honest thought with all this then is, and i'm really sorry to say so because i hate the people that argue this way, to just get a little better.
