Improving Plant Versatility: Stop the "Clones" and Buff Classic Plants
Hi everyone,
Following up on my previous post about the lack of new worlds and multiplayer modes, I want to focus today on the Plants.
I’ve noticed that in most game modes—Adventure, Arena, Penny’s Pursuit, and even special events—players always choose the same top-tier plants. This is because many new plants are simply 'better versions' of the classics.
The Problem with Overlapping Mechanics:
Plants like Bonk Choy or Bloomerang are almost never used anymore. Why? Because there are newer plants with the exact same (or slightly improved) abilities that make the originals obsolete. We have a lot of variety, but not enough versatility.
My Suggestions for a Better Game:
True Uniqueness: Stop releasing 'reskins' or clones. We need plants with 100% unique mechanics that don't just replace an existing one, but offer a completely different way to play.
Classic Plant Rebalance: I suggest a global balance update. Classic plants need buffs or special synergies to remain viable in modern events and high-level Arena.
Seedling/Shop Rotation: While we have 'Plants of the Week,' the game should encourage using a wider range of the seed collection by giving bonuses to underused plants.
I want Plants vs. Zombies 2 to improve and become a more versatile experience where every plant in our collection feels useful, not just the newest ones. Let's prioritize quality and original mechanics over just adding more numbers to the game.
What do you think?
