In Game Purchases Not Registering?

I bought some exclusive shop offers in the pvz2 store and the payments went through no problem, but I haven't received the content. I have proof of purchase with my digital receipts. What do I do? I've heard some people say to wait at least 24 hours after purchase for the game to register it and grant the content. Is this the true solution? Feedback appreciated.
