PVZ2 Data Retrieval Guide

Since I have seen many posts from people who have lost their accounts I am making this post. First of all. If you have not lost your progress, please take a screenshot of your “Download Preferences” under the full settings menu. It’s right under the “show rent a plant offers” setting.

If you have lost your progress,
(this sadly wont’ work if you don’t have a screen shot of your “Download Preferences” from before the wipe)
Go on the EA help website,

go to pvz2, and open a case about your lost progress. (send screenshots of your account and device number before and after the data loss. you might have to play some levels to see the after data loss progress) When someone contacts you in your emails about it, reply so they know its still a problem after a while, if all goes well, they will give you another email saying they got your account back. Only thing that doesn’t come back are which plants you’ve favorited, everything else will be there.

This worked for me and time for them to get your progress back varies.

  • I have registered my account weeks ago.  I lost my progress after they did an update this week. When I go to the EAhelp page, under PvZ2 and click the "I need help restoring my progress in the game" all that comes up is an article about registering your account (which I already have).  Under "how to contact help" it says that "If an advisor can help, a contact option will be available under your help topic."  There is no advisor listed and no other option available so there is no way to open a case.  Since this seems to be a fault of the update they installed I would think that they would at least let us know that they are working on a fix.

    Do you have to have your player ID from before the progress was wiped??? or only the current one. 

    I never took screenshots of my player ID prior to the data removal, but I have proof of buying piñata bundles which I haven’t gotten refunded for or even given when trying to recover my progress.
