Pvz2 Progress all wiped

Today, my pvz2 progress has all been wiped after I haven't played it for over a month. When I first clicked on the app, it forced me to update to the latest version, which I did. However, when I reentered the app, I found out that all my progress was suddenly gone. I had to play the tutorial and once I completed that, it gave me no option to restore my progress. That was different from the norm. 

After that, I redownloaded the app and restarted my iPad to see if my progress had returned. It hasn't and this really concerned me. When I check my player ID, I found it to be the same as when I took a screenshot of it years ago. The only thing different is that my progress has all been gone despite the player ID being the same. 

I know that in the past, I have connected and backed up my progress to both Game Center and EA. Game Center still shows the dates that I have completed the achievements for pvz2. I have also chatted with support today and opened a case. They told me that there's a problem on their end since they are facing technical issues. I'm told to contact them back in 24 hours, much to my disappointment.

Everything that I had in my account is extremely sentimental to me, since it was all the progress I had made from my childhood to present day. In fact, Game Center said that I have first completed the tutorial on August 24th, 2013. That is over 10 years ago. It's a long time. I noticed that other people are facing the same issues now, which is why I'm hoping that this is an error that can be reversed.

  • I thought i was the only one!!!!!!!!!!! It made me pissed!! Im facing the exact same things you’re saying 

  • Your long-term PvZ2 progress disappeared after updating the app following a break, forcing you through the tutorial without a restore option.

    Crucially:

    • Your Player ID is correct and matches your old records.
    • You had previously backed up via Game Center/EA, confirmed by existing achievement dates.
    • EA Support acknowledged a technical issue on their end causing this and asked you to follow up in 24 hours.
    • Others are reporting the same problem.

    This strongly suggests a widespread server-side issue at EA, not data loss specific to you. Since your Player ID is correct and EA is aware, there's a good chance your sentimental progress can be restored once they fix their systems. Following up with EA support as they requested is the right course of action.
