Re: Game keeps crashing after update 9.4.1

I’m up to date on my Ipad and in the arena I crash as I win.  Very frustrating.  I still lose a gauntlet and most of the time it saves my progress on the wins.  But the win is not registered.  Also on the piñata party it sometimes goes into ground hog day marathon and you win hit your three piñatas and the game then asks you if you want yo retry via 1000 coins or watch a video.  This repeats forever and you never win.  Serious problems I this game and please most of us know what we are doing.  Resetting my iPad.  Uninstalling and installing the game.  There is code issues not our issues so please don’t come back with some lame excuse.  Sorry but I’m very irritated to try and get 300 points when all my wins fail and crash out.  It’s like pulling teeth.  To me it’s like a sprites thing or out of memory issue.  Since you have zero control on IPad to clear cache or anything like that.  No settings to pull down video levels.  Fix the issue.  And I have 9.4.1 pvz2

@magsz0215   There has been many reports on arena crashing due to ice plants (Winter-mint family plants) when destroyed, if you are using ice plants, is it possible for you to try using something else please and see if this temporary workaround solves your arena crashing issue?

I am using ice plants.  But that’s what the map calls for.  If there is a problem with the ice plants then fix the ice plants.  Why have plants that don’t work?  But that still don’t explain the ground hog day on the piñata party.  You win but you lose.  It’s over and over playing.  Sometimes it’s good cause you can get lots of seeds and coins.  But if the ice plants are causing a problem then fix the issue.  Scale back the action if it’s a sprites issue.I got no control over the graphics.

The map also encourages players to spend lots of $$$ in the shops....

I aware there are many bugs with the game and am sure they are prioritised, fixes will come sooner or later but until it is fixed you have the following choices:

a) accept the work around offered

b) stop playing

c) try to enjoy the frustrations created by the crashes

Still you did not try to explain or talk about the piñata party going into ground hog day movie.  It never ends.  You win and yet you don’t.  And I hope for a solution soon.  And I don’t see where it encourages $$$ buying in the map

The game has more than the two bugs reported, why should yours be more important than other players?  

Now it just crashed watching ads for coins.  I was actually done with the ads.  Went to play Arena again and up pops a 500 coin sign out of no where and the whole game crashed

Never once did I say mine was more important than anyone else’s.  Don’t put words into my threads.

If the bug was not important, why did you want an explanation?

As for avoiding the crash due to watching ads for coins, you can buy coins from the shop too.

I am having this same problem with the game crashing repeatedly in the arena matches. Losing wins and losing gauntlets. I’m so frustrated. It’s not a memory or update issue.

Try not using ice plants.

You talk in riddles.  I only asked what’s the deal with the crashing issue and what’s the deal with the the ground hog day piñata party.  That’s all.  I never once said my problem is more important so answer me now.  Fix my problem now forget everyone else.  You accused me of saying that my issue is more I,portent than other peoples.  If you can’t talk to people without making it a personal issue or fabricating problems that don’t exist perhaps anger management classes or don’t answer in forum 

I said if you read.  That the issue was not due to watching ads.  It was due to piñata party not registering a win.  You beat piñata party. You pop 3 piñatas and then it comes up try again like you lost.  This repeats constantly forever.  Read before you answer.  And here is your statement where you said my stuff is more important than others.  No where in here did I ever say that.  But since you don’t read I’m not surprised. If you know the movie Ground Hog Day that’s what it seems like .  No matter what you do you never win.  Now this is intermittent.  It does not always happen

#5. Two bugs reported, Arena crashes and piñata party appeared to be endless. You complained that the game frustrates you and ordered the bug to be fixed.

#6.  I was trying to help asking if ice plants were used and advised not to use them as it has been reported to be the cause of the problem in Arena. 

#7. You replied ice plants were used because the game required, you did not seem to bother to try the workaround as there was no confirmation whether the Arena crashes had stopped and once again ordering the bug to be fixed.

There were also more off-topic complaints about endless piñata party bug which was not relevant to crashes and guess what?  the usual ordering of bug fixes.

#8.  As the game does not actually required ice plants to be used for Arena, I made a sarcastic reply saying the game also requires you to spend $$$ in shop. I acknowledged there are more than one bug reported and offered more advices and lists out the choices.

That was not what the original posts conveyed.  See my summary above.

These posts were coming across as rude and demanding, hence resulting a sarcastic reply.

If you really want to know what happened with Arena crashing and the endless piñata parties, then the answer is that these were the new bugs introduced with the new 9.4 update.  The fixes will done by PopCap but no time scale has been announced.  Until the fix is released, you can choose to take the workarounds found by helpful forum members which might or might not work for you, or stop playing these game modes or even stop playing the game altogether. 

I said fix the issue.  That’s not saying take care of me before anyone else.

You were barging in with your frustrations on Arena crashing (which is understandable) but you had also brought alone an off-topic piñata party issue you have experienced and demanded the bugs you had reported to be fixed.

After receiving the explanation that the ice plant is the cause of the crash for Arena and a workaround suggestion was offered, you started to hijack this thread with your 'ground hog day' issue.

When your 'ground hog day' issue has been ignored (on purpose as it was off-topic), you repeatedly asking for explanations and after not getting what you have wanted, you started to acts like a spoiled kid by accusing a forum member, that is me, to have anger management issue and telling me not to post here.

You got issues dude.  You remind me of my X who feels if she bloviates in long winded drama queen Explanations some how you are right.  This is supposed to be a forum for help.  So I went off topic.  And in no way did I express me first.  As my mom use to say your making a mountain out of a mole hill.  Your the wrong person to be in this forum I hope your supervisors take note of your behavior.  If not I’ll bring it up to them.  I didn’t even read your long winded tirade It’s a new year gets some help.

The discussions here are starting to veer off from my original topic, which is about the PvZ2 update 9.4.1 causing the game to crash each time you tap "Play" to load into the main menu.

While I understand all bugs are important, I noticed there are several threads in the forum talking about issues related to the Arena. So please post your discussions under those more appropriate threads (or create your own). I want to read about discussions/solutions related to my specific issue, thank you.

For a person who accused others not reading posts before answering, you should have at least read my previous reply before start embarrassing yourself by using a threatening attitude to provoke a response.

You are right about I have issues, but my issues are only with rude and impolite spoiled kids with threatening behaviour when they do not get what they wanted.

So far, you have resorted to bring out your X and your mom to back you up on this thread, I am interested to see what happens when you cannot find my supervisors, will you become a cry baby running to find your daddy?

Finally I just want you to know this is a free forum and it welcomes all members to post, including spoiled kids with brainz rejected by zombies.

My original reply on post #6 was just trying to help a member avoiding a crash (and I had tried to hold back none-crashing issue such as endless pinata parties)

As for your question about the new 9.4.1 update crashing problem, I have updated PVZ2 on my oldest iPhone which is a 5s, it runs 12.5.1 IOS and I have not experienced any game crashing, it just slow to load and sometimes feels lagging in game play.

That's ok, @eieio_31310... my last reply was meant for other members popping in this thread with more discussions about the Arena and other issues.

Strange that the game can run on your older iOS better than mine... Oh well, guess I'll have to wait for a new update to fix this.

@niterhk   There are a few things you can try but before you do anything please do the following first if you have not yet done so.

1) Take a screenshot or note down of your player ID.  This can be found either by clicking the wrench key in the game or in Apple's Setting > PVZ2 (player info).  Just in case you need to contact EA for help. 

2) Register your email with EA (in the game and get 100 free gems). This ties the account to your email and it also allows the same account to be restored onto other devices, this includes crossing over to another platform, on Android as well as IOS.  

Once the above 2 key items are done, you can try re-install the game as a fresh install either on the same device or another device and see if the issue is fixed.  Do make sure to enter your age as an adult (18+) so you can register your email again with the same email address to get an option to reload your saved account via email confirmation.

Please note, if you are using two iPhones, do not use the Apple's clone service by pairing the two devices together via bluetooth as this will just transfer the corrupted data over, you will need to do a fresh installation so the new user data could be reconstructed.  

EDIT.  Forget to add that if you do a fresh install, you will be treated as a new player for 2 days, during this time, the shop items will be different, you will get a minimum set of offer restricted to new players, the old comprehensive offers will return after two days.

Just realised I have missed out a question from the previous post.  

Have you tried to start up your game without WiFi and internet connection (in case your iPad has data sim installed for internet dada)?    I ask because if there is memory issue on the iPad it might have been unable to complete the data download so the game was unable to start up, By turning off WiFi and internet data, the game would run from local saved data and might let you pass the loading section.  

You will still need internet data for other new game modes, but at least this will let us know whether there is a storage/memory issue on the device.
