I have reinstalled several times and it never got rid of the restoring purchases bug
Same here, and the last time I uninstalled and reinstalled I lost 13 plants that have yet to be restored!

If you uninstall/ reinstall through the Google playstore or apple store then you shouldn't lose plants, if you complain to EA HELP CENTER (below) with your player id number they can restore a profile or check your account and fix your missing plant issue.

Thankfully I didn't actually lose anything, except my costume choices and marked as favorite plants. Had to reset all of those manually, and as it is, all of my favorites are now in completely different positions, so my muscle memory is all irritated. XD

I had a bug this past summer I'll bet y'all have never run into. I live in a Wi-Fi dead zone up against the side of a mountain. When you finish a battle, EA will attempt to reconnect if you have lost service. A message box will come up with a RETRY and an EXIT button. Ususlly RETRY will work. When it doesn't a different message box will appear with OOPS SOMETHING WENT WRONG and only an EXIT button. Hitting this loses your reward and resets your win streak.
But that's not the worst part. The next time you purchase something for 100 gems, PVZ2 charges you 400 gems for the purchase. This actually happened to me 3 times this past summer. EA help was very good about refunding the gems but I don't know if they ever solved the problem. Their tech replies were more along the line of:
Please don't trigger our defective procedure and everything will be fine.
Keep a sharp eye out, laddies.
