Frustrations with peagloo

Its honestly just really lame imo. it just has a "go go gadget kill fon-doom" button, and it suffers from the exact same problem that caused snow pea to get removed, being that its just a worse cold slaw (or snow-bellista) Also, it adds a fourth plant to the snowy trees elemental family, which alongside the acid shrooms and tangled reeds means we're gonna have 12 triple lock-and-key tier threes that counter a specific zombie, zone, and gimmick, all exclusive to each other, so each of these tier 3s counter 3 things at once and are useless otherwise, and each one having one intended target means theyre all gonna be necessary, including leveling and perks. This number is going to go up once they release the hot plants, meaning we're gonna have 16 plants that are basically required yet useless. Its like simon says, or just putting square blocks in the square hole.
Again- theyve gone towards the route of entirely just removing gimmicks instead of doing anything interesting. They could have played into its strengths- numbing cabbage and snow conifer can only be stacked so many times due to their limited range, and snow bellista's slower firing could give it an actual niche which fixes the problem that originally got snow pea axed. For example, if the magma zombie lost % health every time fon-doom was hit with an ice attack, even though its still a forced usage of the snow element, it doesnt force us to use exactly and only peagloo, and actually makes the gimmick interactive with strategy. You can get away with leaving the magma zombie at high health with ranged strategies, but it might be too much for melee strategies to handle, so you bring the hard counter (ice plants) as a supplement. That would actually be fun, unique, and strategic. Instead they just made peagloo just shut down the fon-doom's ability entirely.
Also, it means gargantuars are just being treated like a typical special. I think thats a fine decision honestly as long as they introduce a proper replacement to gargantuars. It is a bit strange because gargantuars are pretty much the same in each biome while specials aim to be unique, but it is nice for gargantuars to be a consistent threat with intended counters. I think the biggest problem with the elements system right now is that everything except ice is a damage dealer. Ice plants are automatically viable in every environment, and make volcanic zombies utterly unable to do anything since youre required to use ice plants on them. Electric plants and poison plants just do damage, so volcano zombies are automatically at a disadvantage because their counters deal more damage than everything else to them, AND theyre slower. The element system is just abominable and beyond saving in its current state, and the rework is no better. It just means you pick every element that shows up in the threat guide, or you just bring every element no matter what, and just put down a tier 3 in the lane with the element applier and its still just a means to the end we already have- a devastating blow that cripples the game fundamentally and is significantly flawed in multiple ways. Just playing more into this triple lock-and-key system is just abhorrent and boring.
I hate to criticize this game, I do it out of love, because its so close to being a fun strategy game, but theyre so focused on making it so simple and mind numbing. If they want to make a simple and mind numbing game, give us the pvz archero style game, or pvz match, they have so many opportunities for games that would do everything they want to do with pvz3. Id love to see an AR game like pokemon go with pvz they could add evolution as a progress mechanic and it would be so fun, we could set up plants in real life places set up by devs, and send attacks just like pvza. Theres just so much potential in this franchise but they just want to cater to cocomelon kids. I get the devs are busy, I know they enjoy the game, but a strategy game like this isnt for busy people. It just feels like theyre trying to make a game THEY enjoy, which I think is fine, but that shouldnt be thrusted onto us as a mind numbing mainline game. Do that for pvz match, or a spin off. Ive personally made a list of 45 tier 1s, merges to create the entire pvz1 and 2 adventure roster, elemental reworks, zone hazards, and more. Im not saying they need to listen to me, im just saying theres SO SO SO much potential- they could make BILLIONS easily and launch pvz into a franchise to rival the likes of Mario, Sonic, Metroid, and more. Its just plants like this that are just so... lazy that upset me. Its just cold slaw that gets countered by basically every health special (ex: screendoor, balloon), then the tier 3 just has a bandaid go go gadget kill one dude gun.
