Pvz 3 ideas and concepts to improve gameplay and player experience
There are several issues regarding the launch of pvz3. I've been focusing on 6 of them. (Also I apologize I'm not an english native so my English can be quit problematic sometimes).
1 : lives system. In pvz 3, when you lose, you need to wait until your lives have refilled. That's pretty annoying. It was set to make the player come back to the game. (And maybe there are offers to accelerate the refill process).
2 : there is a battle pass, which is quite exaggerated for a pvz game, and a lot of others micro transactions.
I think problem 1 and 2 can be solved just by making the game a paid game. By doing this, the game could get rid of the lives system and reduce significantly the number of micro transactions in-game.
3 : the similarities with so many others games like donating plants (clash royale) or having kind of a Gardenscapes experience.
I don't think that's what the players are interested in. Just let the game as it was, with some crazy Dave talking and a storyline simple but good enough to interest the player (for exemple Dave is captured by the zombies and the plants are tracking them to get their Dave back).
4 : the gameplay is too easy
For this one, developers can introduce a new mode (you can activate while going throw levels) more challenging (for exemple plants are 2x more expensive or zombies have 2x more life)
5 : the gameplay is annoying
The gameplay is just a copy paste from other pvz games. Here is what I suggest : introducing 2 plateforms levels. The player now has the possibility to grow plants on 2 floors and the zombies can go on both floors. There could be specific zombies which could navigate (them or make other zombies navigate) between the floors. Also, we could imagine that the player have to plant a ladder (or something else) on a square on the 1st floor in order to plant on the 2nd floor square. By that way, the game would get brand new challenges for players already familiar with the game. For the player management between floors, there could be arrows in the bottom right corner where the player will be able to navigate between those floors.
Another boring thing in this game is that the plants are the same as in the 2 other chapters. I suggest the developers could create completely new plants and mechanics to make the game more unique. For exemple, make 50 new plants which each have a unique mechanic and permit the player to unlock them through his journey. Make each plant balanced with others and get rid of plant'levels to make sure all players are equals in experiencing the levels of the roadmap and the game is not too easy or too hard.
6 : the social aspect
We've seen the will of the developers to make the game more social, for exemple by adding plant donations. As explained before, I don't think plant levels are good and taking ideas from clash royale either.
My idea is to create new modes where you fight with/against real players (not Bots like in the arena of pvz2).
Developers can create a coop mode where you are both facing the zombies. I don't know precisely what this coop mode would look like so help me please. Developers can also create a pvp mode where you are facing each other, and the target is to deal damage to the enemy "base". For exemple a peashooter damages his line. On the opposite side of his line there is a sunflower. The sunflower takes damages until it's dead and then, the peashooter starts to damage the base.
For both these new modes, you can reintroduce the plants from previous pvz games (they are removed because of 5 : the game is annoying, 2nd paragraph). In addition, you can set up modifiers like 2x more suns, zombies are slower, faster...
